Netflix has unveiled its 2025 content slate targeting India’s expanding streaming market. The company’s latest India lineup, shared Monday in Mumbai, is both sizable and diverse, spanning a plethora of genres across six feature films, 14 series and five unscripted titles — but it’s also more targeted than in recent years (Netflix released as many as 40 original Indian titles in 2021).

The title of the film closely resembles the name of the 1994 comedy drama Veetla Visehshanga. Sharing the announcement, Boney wrote: “#வீட்லவிசேஷம் #VeetlaVishesham. Get ready for the craziest family entertainer of 2022 ! June 17th only in theatres! (sic).” Sharing the first look poster, Boney Kapoor announced that the film will be releasing on June 17. This remarkably lighthearted film on a very sad lavender marriage couldn’t have been easy to make. There is so much to be said about the tragic misrepresentation and gross neglect of the gay community. Mumbai, May 17 (Ians) Bhumi Pednekar has shared some Monday motivation along with an Instagram picture she has shared for fans.

Deepika Padukone is all set to star in a Hindi film remake of The Intern. The Nancy Meyers directed hit film, originally starring Anne Hathaway, also featured Robert De Niro. Now we can confirm that it will be Amitabh Bachchan in the titular role. Originally the role was to be played by Rishi Kapoor before his death.

Talking about the film earlier, Deepika said, “The Intern is an intimate, relationship-driven film, set in and around the workplace; a story that I believe is very relevant to the present-day social and cultural environment. I have been looking for a light, breezy comedy drama and this story fits in seamlessly. I cannot wait to begin this journey.”

Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, the film is set to go to the floor in November 2021 and release 2022. Produced by Sunir Kheterpal and Deepika Padukone, the screenplay has been adapted by Akshat Ghildial and Mitesh Shah.

The film will be directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, whose previous film “Badhaai Ho” (2018) was a hit with $39 million worldwide.

Here’s some huge casting news from the Bollywood world – megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been set to star alongside Deepika Padukone in the long-planned Hindi remake of The Intern.

Bachchan will play the Robert De Niro role, which was previously set to be played by Rishi Kapoor before he died suddenly in April 2020. Padukone is in the Anne Hathaway role. The original 2015 Warner Bros movie stars Hathaway as the workaholic CEO of an online fashion website who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a 70-year-old widower who becomes the company’s latest intern. The original movie grossed $195M worldwide, including $119M from offshore.

The Indian remake is now set to shoot in November 2021 and release in summer 2022. It is being directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Sunir Kheterpal and Deepika Padukone. The screenplay has been adapted by Akshat Ghildial and Mitesh Shah. Co-producers are Amit Ravindernath Sharma and Gaurav Bose.
