Eric Hand(II)
- Director
- Cinematographer
- Actor
A director, cinematographer and musician, Hand has worked closely with writer Bo Gardner and D. Prescott Noel on several non-"Hollywood" southern films in addition to working in commercial audio/video production. Hand grew up Florida. During college he and director John Gonatos (Thunder Ridge) worked together on 8mm shorts and eventually migrated to 16mm for music videos. His recent film soundtracks are often scored with analog synths and rock-n-roll power trios. All the feature films are shot on restored 35mm cameras in Techniscope equipped with vintage cinema lenses which he feels captures the visual essence of early 70's cinema that Hand draws his inspiration from.
Often splits time living and filming in remote desert areas of Nevada and the south Georgia countryside.
Hand prefers promotional poster art to be hand painted and worked with illustrator Scott Francis Anderson for "One Bullet To Bedlam" (poster and title sequences) and pop culture artist Simon Pritchard for "The Last Highway" poster art.
Hand has a great affinity for classic vehicles and muscle cars, they are often used in his films, some of which are his own.
