‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 69’ Review
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation which sees the show get back to a longer card, featuring seven matches this week. We’ve got Excalibur, Anthony Ogogo and Mark Henry on commentary once again… Let’s get into it!

Match #1: Anna Jay def. Heather Reckless

My Thoughts: This was a quasi-squash, with Heather Reckless given a couple of chances to get a shot in on Anna Jay, otherwise this was all Anna – a woman who’s literally getting better and better each and every time she wrestles. It helps that you’ve got someone like Reckless as an opponent – she can really sell a move!

My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Powerhouse Hobbs & Rocky Starks def. Jordan Kross & Joey Jett

My Thoughts: What’s not to love about Hobbs & Starks? Plus this week we actually get Taz come out with them and stand ringside! Kross...

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 6’ Review
Image
Welcome to this weeks episode of Aew Dark: Elevation, Aew’s third “programme” of wrestling (but not the extra TV programme we’re still due on TNT apparently) that so far hasn’t done much to elevate it (pun intended) apart from its namesake on Tuesday nights… Though given the recent set of releases elsewhere, Aew made need this extra show to fit in all the new wrestlers they’ll likely pick up!

Match #1: Hangman Page def. Spencer Slade

My Thoughts: A squash if ever I saw one, this at lest gave us more of Spencer Slade, who last week was the butt of a joke about the headgear from the Aew commentary team but who, this week, I learned wears the headgear because he’s deaf. Remarkable that Slade has found a way to do what he loves; honestly inspiring Imho.

My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Britt Baker def.

‘Aew: Dynamite’ Review (Mar 3rd 2021)
Image
Welcome to this week’s Aew Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel you bitch. On this episode of Unsolved Mysteries: Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near…for me to poop on?! I hate Aew…because I don’t have Tony Khan’s money. F—K! Dead carpet. Shaquille O’Neal is here to wrestle. F—K! Peace out. We have s—t to do, dumb-ass. It’s time to build toward Revolution. You feel me, brah? Lemme un-hook you! Aew…now!

Match #1: Shaquille O’Neal & Jade Cargill def. Cody Rhodes (with Arn Anderson) and Red Velvet The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

“Shaq won’t allow himself to be embarrassed here tonight. This is not a joke to him,” said Jim Ross of the 4x NBA champion. Cody and Shaq locked up with a collar and elbow tie up and Shaq powered right out,...

‘All Elite Wrestling: Dark’ Review (Sept 22nd 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and if this so has one more squash match, then I’ll review it. If you take a poop and drop your watch in the toilet, then you’re gonna have a shitty time. On this episode of M.A.S.H, they go daaaaaaaaaaaaanciiiiiiiiiiiing!!!!!! Also, we’ve got eleven matches in ninety minutes. Tina Fey attacked Marco Polo with a blindfold and a swimming pool, but you’ve got Aew Dark.

Matches: Dark Order (Evil Uno and Stu Grayson) def. Fuego del Sol & Rembrandt Lewis – 2.2 Ricky Starks def. Christopher Daniels – 3.3 The Butcher & The Blade (w/Eddie Kingston) def. Calvin Stewart & Puf – 1 Will Hobbs def. Serpentico (w/Luther) – 1.8 The Lucha Brothers (w/Eddie Kingston) def. Maxx Stardom & Dontae Smiley – 2 Dark Order (5 & 10) def. ‘All Elite Wrestling: Dark’ Review (Sept 8th & 15th 2020)
Image
Welcome to another double-stuffed review of All Elite Wrestling: Dark, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I’m doing the number-rating-only deal for this sucker. I’ll still recommend the matches that were the best, but that’s it Brad Pitt.

September 8th 2020 Will Hobbs def. Sean Legacy – 1.7 Brian Cage def. Tony Donati – 1.4 Angélico def. Griff Garrison – 2.4 Anna Jay def. Skyler Moore – 2.1 Eddie Kingston def. Lee Johnson – 2.3 Sonny Kiss def. Serpentico – 2.5 Ricky Starks def. Ben Carter – 2.8 Final Verdict: 2.4/5

There’s plenty of good action from the last match, thanks to Starks (Carter did well as well).

September 15th 2020 Brandi Rhodes (w/Dustin Rhodes) def. Red Velvet – 1.9 Penelope Ford (w/ Kip Sabian) def. Dani Jordyn – 1.6 Brian Cage def. Megabyte Ronnie – 1.5 Santana and Ortiz def. Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr. – 2.7 Will Hobbs def. Jessy Sorensen – 1.8 Ivelisse and Diamante vs. Skyler Moore and Rache Chanel – 2.5 Colt Cabana def. Qt...

‘All Elite Wrestling: Dark’ Review (Sept 1st & 4th 2020)
Image
Welcome to this double-shot of All Elite Wrestling: Dark, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have two episodes that we’ll cover here. I’ve done this before, but I’m just going to give the numerical review of each match and then recommend the best of each episode to watch. You know damn well there will be too many squash matches for me to take, so get the counter ready, because I’m about to fly off the fukken chain.

September 1st 2020 Shawn Spears def. Eddie Taurus – 2.1 Santana & Ortiz def. Faboo Andre & Ryzin – 2.4 Allie (w/ Qt Marshall) def. Cassandra Golden – 2.2 Frankie Kazarian def. Angelico – 3.3 Billy & Austin Gunn def. Donnie Primetime & Ryan Rembrandt – 1.9 Abadon def. Dani Jordyn – 2.4 Ricky Starks. Tony Donati – 2.4 Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy) def. Jon Cruz & David Ali – 2.5 Anna Jay def. Red Velvet – 2 Kip Sabian (w/ Penelope Ford) def. Shawn Dean – 2.5 Private Party def.

‘All Elite Wrestling: Dark’ Review (June 2nd 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. We’ve got about an hour of wrestling to get to, so let’s get to it.

Match #1: Billy Gunn w/ Austin Gunn def. John Skyler

My Opinion: 2.3 out of 5 – Skyler worked well with a slightly slower, but still skilled Billy. As a match, this was too short to really get going, but it was all decent for a few minutes and that’s some-thing.

Match #2: The Butcher and the Blade def. Joe Alonzo and Jon Cruz

My Opinion: 2.3 out of 5 – This was a squash match, but it went a bit longer than most. There’s not much going on here that was worth remembering, but the match did let us take an extended look at B&b and that’s a good thing.

Match #3: Christi Jaynes def. Kilynn King

My Opinion: 2.2 out...

‘All Elite Wrestling: Dark’ Review (Jan 14th 2020)
Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this is the episode where the Memphis Wrestling Legends actually get their due. This was supposed to happen on last week’s Aew: Dynamite, but look how that turned out. Any-way, we’ve got that here, so call Taylor Swift and tell her to bang a squirrel, because…I forget. Call Taylor Swift and tell her to f— a squirrel.

Match #1: Darby Allin defeated Brandon Cutler

My Opinion: 2.8 out of 5 – This was a nice match, but not enough of Allin doing his thing. Also, this was far too short. Why was this so short? Balance your cards better and you’ll have time for a fifteen match on this show. Booking. Learn how to do it.

Match #2: Nyla Rose vs. Shanna (No Contest)

My Opinion: 1.4 out of 5 – Rose is a big b—-.

‘Ring Of Honor/Cmll Espectacular 2′ Review
Welcome to this review of Ring Of Honor/Cmll Espectacular 2, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Matt Taven is defending his World Title against Volador Jr., which is Spanish for “wakka, wakka, wakka”. I gotta get a life. Okay, we’ve got a long one here, which is something I can’t normally say with my pants off.

Match #1: Austin Gunn beat Dante Caballero – Top Prospect Tournament Semi-Finals Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:

Caballero hit a German Suplex from the floor onto the edge of the apron. Gunn rallied and went for a running clothesline in the corner, but Caballero moved and Gunn inadvertently hit the referee. Caballero took a drink from his flask and tried to spit it in Gunn’s face, but Gunn ducked and Caballero sprayed the referee. Caballero chop-blocked Gunn, but Gunn came back with the Famouser for the win.
