A graduate of Universidad Iberoamericana del Noroeste. He studied acting and theatre arts at ANDA Tijuana, the University of Baja California and Southwestern College in San Diego California. Agustín has worked in the entertainment industry since 1991. During his artistic career, he has shown great versatility as an actor, singer, director, writer, producer and editor in diverse productions that go from stage works, films, commercial spots, television shows, concerts, and musical productions. He works both in the US and Mexico.
As a director, Agustin Castaneda has been in charge of many stage works, commercial spots, videos and educational and corporate films, including a campaign for the Council of Community Clinics in San Diego California that won an EMMY award. He directed the feature film 'The Little Matchmakers' that won best feature film at the San Diego Independent Film Festival in 2011 and recently directed the film Ruta Madre, that has won many awards including; Best Feature at the New York International Film Festival in 2016, "People's Choice Award", at the Borrego Springs Film Festival in 2017, nominated for "People's Choice award", at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival in 2017, "Award of excellence" and "Award of Excellence, Special Mention" at the Indie Fest Film Awards 2017, "Corazon Award" and "Best Narrative Feature Audience Award" at the San Diego Latino Film Festival 2017, among others.
