Ben, who appeared in Seasons 1 through 4 of Below Deck and Seasons 1 and 4 of Below Deck Mediterranean, proposed to Kiara in May 2023.

“After a wonderful 4 year relationship with my love Kiara I decided to take the next step and propose…” wrote the chef.

“I feel like the luckiest man alive!”

Following his announcement, Ben shared in an interview that he proposed while the couple vacationed in Italy.

Given the romantic setting, he admitted Kiara saw that this could be a special moment, joking she was expecting more than “just a carbonara.”

Just 16 months later, Ben and Kiara’s relationship has taken a major turn.

Following the close of his time onboard Below Deck Med, João Franco has made great strides in his yachting career. "6 years of yachting, 4 years of captaining smaller vessels. Now time to raise the bar," João announced, just after posting his recent accomplishment, earning a master's license.

There was an infamous love triangle on Below Deck Mediterranean season 3 between Joao Franco, Brooke Laughton, and Kasey Cohen, but fans think Joao chose wrong. This was the season of yachtmances, as this trio had competition for the most volatile relationship, and it was a tight race with Hannah Ferrier and Conrad Empson. Hannah and Joao may have been known for their blowout fights, but they are also known for both keeping the Below Deck yachtmance tradition alive.

Joao was hardly fan-favorite on the show, as many fans said they found it difficult to imagine one, much less two women would be interested in him given his actions. Though Joao ultimately chose Brooke, many fans think she would have been better with Colin Macy-o'Toole and Joao should have been with Kasey. Joao and Kasey seemed to have a stronger connection, and they even talked about her visiting him in his native Zimbabwe.

Three Below Deck Mediterranean stars reunited to send summer off in style with a little guy time ahead of the holiday weekend.

Colin Macy-o’Toole, Alex Radcliffe, and Bobby Giancola spent time together last week, proving once again the Below Deck family bond is strong.

Bobby helped launch Below Deck Med, appearing as a deckhand on Season 1 and returning for Season 2. Colin also appeared on two seasons of the show, working as a deckhand on Seasons 3 and 4.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 5 introduced Alex to fans. Although neither Bobby nor Colin were on Alex’s season, the three have become friends.

They all did Galley Talk together when it was on. Colin and Bobby were paired together, while Alex was paired with Anastasia Surmava.

Ironically, the guys were reunited this past week as Anastasia announced she was pregnant with her first child.

Anastasia got engaged to Will last winter when he proposed during a fun-filled weekend with friends.

Two days later, Will and Anastasia were married in a beautiful intimate ceremony with Vermont views as their backdrop.
