Taking another blow, Kasey failed to live up to the expectations set by her boss, Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier, who accused Kasey of lying on her resume. Post filming, Kasey met actress and model Liron Revivo, and the two began to date.

Since leaving Below Deck Mediterranean, former bosun João Franco has continued on with his studies, working on the build of a 140 foot (43 meter) super yacht which he will soon captain, as he has just earned a master's license. João first appeared as the lead deckhand during Below Deck Med season 3. Captain Sandy Yawn took note of his dedicated work ethic and was thereby pleased to welcome João back for season 4 as her bosun, however, this season proved to be complicated, as João found himself in the middle of a love triangle and at odds with Chief Stew, Hannah Ferrier, causing season 4 to be his last.

Following the close of his time onboard Below Deck Med, João Franco has made great strides in his yachting career. "6 years of yachting, 4 years of captaining smaller vessels. Now time to raise the bar," João announced, just after posting his recent accomplishment, earning a master's license.

João Franco has been busy since his days on Below Deck Mediterranean. While he was on the show, João was the lead deckhand during Below Deck Med season 3 and was promoted to bosun during the following season. Captain Sandy Yawn was more than impressed with him in his first season and saw his potential as a bosun. João was honored by the praise and considered Sandy to be someone he looks up to. They developed a close friendship throughout his two seasons, one that seemed unbreakable.

While he may have excelled in his yachting skills, João did not get along with many of his crewmates. Former chief steward Hannah Ferrier called him on several occasions a "misogynist," as he would often flirt with third stewardess Kasey Cohen right in front of second stew Brooke Laughton, who he was pursuing. During Below Deck Med season 3, he and Hannah often butted heads after João began dating Brooke.

There was an infamous love triangle on Below Deck Mediterranean season 3 between Joao Franco, Brooke Laughton, and Kasey Cohen, but fans think Joao chose wrong. This was the season of yachtmances, as this trio had competition for the most volatile relationship, and it was a tight race with Hannah Ferrier and Conrad Empson. Hannah and Joao may have been known for their blowout fights, but they are also known for both keeping the Below Deck yachtmance tradition alive.

Joao was hardly fan-favorite on the show, as many fans said they found it difficult to imagine one, much less two women would be interested in him given his actions. Though Joao ultimately chose Brooke, many fans think she would have been better with Colin Macy-o'Toole and Joao should have been with Kasey. Joao and Kasey seemed to have a stronger connection, and they even talked about her visiting him in his native Zimbabwe.
