Abbilyse
- Actress
Abbilyse stars in the hit web series Dhar Mann Studios, where she debuted in June 2023. For the various episodes and shorts she has starred in, she has amassed 200 million views and counting on YouTube alone. In 2024, Dhar Mann was nominated for a Kids' Choice Award, and the channel currently has over 24 million subscribers.
Aside from Dhar Mann Studios, Abbilyse recently starred in a film entitled "Get Real" directed and written by former Disney Channel star John D'Aquino. Abbilyse plays the sweet and innocent Elise, who is tormented by unexplainable nightmares and grapples with her upcoming graduation from high school. Alongside acting in this film, Abbilyse wrote, sang, and produced an original song that can be heard in the opening scene and showcases her impeccable dance skills later on in the film as well.
Another upcoming project for Abbilyse will be her first-ever feature film in which she stars alongside country artist Shotgun Jefferson. Abbilyse plays 17-year-old Sammy, a country singer-songwriter, who, after losing her mother, is forced to live with her washed-up country star father, whom she'd never known existed before her mother's death. Through pre-production and filming Abbilyse picked up her latest hobby and skill, playing the guitar. The movie's release has not yet been slated, but the official title poster and first looks at the project can be seen on IMDb.
Although Abbilyse is most known for her television and film appearances, she has accumulated a plethora of theater and dance credits over the years. She has been in multiple mainstage Equity shows, with the first being at the age of 14. Her last theatrical show was Theater Under the Stars' "Mary Poppins" at the Houston Hobby Center, in which she played the principal role of Jane Banks. She starred alongside Broadway legends such as Matt Loehr, Bret Shuford, Olivia Hernandez, and more. The show was directed by the talented and award-winning Julie Kramer and choreographed by the equally talented and award-winning Jessica Hartman. Abbilyse's favorite part of this show will always be tapping in the classic Step In Time number, as well as getting to learn a British accent for the first time.
Abbilyse got her start in the industry through dance. She started at the early age of 2 thanks to her mom, a dance teacher at the time. At the age of 9, she joined her first professional dance company, Dance League, with which she toured all over the country for 6 years. She worked with top choreographers and dancers like Christina Grady, Desiree Robbins, Natalie Willes, Tyler Muhlenkamp, Chris Moss, and so many more. Abbilyse was simultaneously training and working within a variety of dance styles like ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, contemporary, modern, ballroom, and pointe, to name a few. Abbilyse heavily trained with principal ballerinas Lorna and Lorena Feijoo, tap extraordinaires Tony Merriwether and Anthony Morigeriatto, dance legend Denise Wall, renowned choreographer Nika Kljun, and so many more, including even Emmy award-winning choreographers. At the age of 15 Abbilyse began working as a dance teacher and to this day still works as a master class teacher and choreographer for studios like Dance Expressions and Feijoo Ballet School. One of her favorite performances to this day is the 2018 Oscars City Gala opening number she danced in at the Globe Theater, where she got to walk the red carpet alongside many of Hollywood's biggest stars like Matthew McConaughey.
In 2022, Abbilyse was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the Tommy Tune Awards for her role as Pearl Krabs in Spongebob the Musical. The Tommy Tune Awards is one of the highest levels of achievement in high school theater, and many kids from this awards show have gone on to be in the national level awards show, the Jimmy's (like Renee Rapp and Andrew Barth Feldman), and additionally, Broadway.
From a very young age Abbilyse knew she loved the arts, but what most people don't know is that Abbilyse is not just a performing artist, but a visual artist. She is currently pursuing her degree in Studio Arts and developing her skills in painting, sculpting, graphic design, drawing, and much more. Abbilyse was an avid AP student throughout high school and even earned college credit for her AP Art submissions, in which she developed a portfolio of 30+ pieces.
Abbilyse is a published singer and songwriter with her first release back in 2019. Abbilyse has released 3 original songs to date: "Rollercoaster", "Originality", and "Undertow". However, she is currently developing her first album alongside music producer Michael Binikos in which she will debut her latest original work.
Abbilyse would not be the actress she is today without the help of her amazingly talented coaches and mentors like John D'Aquino, Shane Brady, Japheth Gordon, Gloria Garyua, and Laura Peete, to name a few. Abbilyse has participated in hundreds of casting director workshops, pilot prep workshops, episodic prep workshops, acting intensives, voiceover studies, improv classes, and scene studies. She has taken from people such as John Beck, Suzanne Goddard-Smythe, Paul Webber, Jamie Snow, Aline Maya Gotia, Harriet Greenspan, and many more.
Aside from all of her creative endeavors, Abbilyse has always been passionate about being as educated as possible. She graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA and multiple scholarship offers. She took courses such as AP Statistics, AP Human Geography, AP Physics, AP English, AP Music Theory, AP Drawing, AP 2-D Design, AP Economics, and more. After graduating from college, Abbilyse hopes to use her degree to aid in her development as an artist/performer and eventually start her own business as a commissioned artist and designer.
For the rare occasion Abbilyse is not working or studying, she enjoys crocheting, spending time with her dogs and family, getting in touch with her Texan roots, playing the piano, creating DIY projects, cooking, and trying out new makeup and hair looks. She currently resides in Los Angeles, but visits her hometown, right outside of Houston, Texas, any chance she gets. Abbilyse's ultimate dream is to one day be a part of a multi-cam sitcom, a movie musical, and star on Broadway, and she knows with continued perseverance, these dreams will one day be a reality.
