HBO has unveiled an official trailer for a documentary film titled Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off, which is premiering at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival coming up this month. Hawk, born in San Diego, California, is a pioneer of modern vertical skating and one of the most influential skateboarders of all time. This thrilling documentary – which covers his personal life, career and relationship with skateboarding – features unprecedented access, never-before-seen footage, and interviews with Hawk, and prominent figures in the sport including Stacy Peralta, Rodney Mullen, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Neil Blender, Andy MacDonald, Duane Peters, Sean Mortimer, and Christian Hosoi. HBO has acquired the rights to “Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off,” a feature documentary about the skateboarding legend. The film will debut on HBO and become available to stream on HBO Max in 2022.

“Until the Wheels Fall Off” comes from Mark and Jay Duplass’ Duplass Brothers Productions. Both Duplass brothers and Mel Eslyn serve as executive producers.

The acquisition was negotiated by ICM Partners, which represents Sam Jones, Mark Duplass and Jay Duplass.

The documentary is directed by Sam Jones, whose recent directing credits include the Showtime series “Roadies,” an episode of “Ted Lasso” and the documentaries “Running With Our Eyes Closed” and “A Film About Jason Isbell,” both of which are currently in post-production.

Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare will be held every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from October 10-November 2. Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare will feature 15 nights of music, culminating with a November 2 headlining performance by Rob Zombie himself. This bone-chilling experience will combine the most advanced haunted house attractions with a not-to-be-missed music festival from top artists in the realms of hard rock/metal, rock alternative, Edm, and Latin music. Last month we told you about Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare, a massive music-and-horror event kicking off this October. At the time we only had a partial list of participating bands, but as of now the full performance lineup and schedule (with one notable exception) has been posted to the official event site. Rob and his band will be headlining act the closing night festivities, with hit rockers Eagles of Death Metal, gothic icons 45 Grave and industrial rock unit Powerman 5000 (featuring FEARnet's very own Spider One) supporting. Another FEARnet fave, Motionless in White, will be playing on October 26th. Most people don't have enough happen in their life to make one documentary, but it turns out Stacy Peralta has enough to make at least two. Eleven years after he delved into his own adolescent history with “Dogtown And Z-Boys,” Peralta has made another skateboarding doc about the next phase of his career after the Z-boys. Most rock-centric documentaries fall into one of two camps: the hagiographical tributes to artists that frame and justify a performer's failings within the larger picture of his battles for success, and the warts-and-all examinations that tend to use the excesses of said performers as evidence of the inherent vapidity in the field. While I claim to be a tomboy and up until the age of 22 or so I couldn't imagine having babies (I was scared to even hold one lest I drop it), lately my ovaries have been crying out every time I see a tiny pair of shoes. Thus, when I saw the synopsis for The Other F Word at SXSW, I knew it was a documentary I Had to see; it's a narrative following various iconic punk rock musicians around as they discuss the responsibilities and life-changing aspects of going from anarchist role models to daddies.

The film is directed and written by Andrea Blaugrund, a strong female who rocked a leather jacket and motorcycle boots at the premiere. She is obviously in love with counterculture, and had been friends with Jim Lindberg of Pennywise for a long time. She was made...
