Nan St. George’s duchess happy ending did not go as she planned on “The Buccaneers” Season 2 finale.
When the Duchess of Tintagel (Kristine Froseth) realized that she was pregnant with Theo’s (Guy Remmers) baby, she had a hard choice to make. Though the two had fallen out of love and Theo moved on with one of her best friends, Nan had a plan to keep her newfound power intact by surprising him and the court with the baby news.
But too bad for our duchess, Theo had a scheme of his own. At Nan’s masquerade ball, Theo announced that the couple abdicated their title, leaving Nan pregnant and alone with his heir.

Spoiler Alert: This post majorly spoils the finale of The Buccaneers Season 2.
Another season of Apple TV+’s The Buccaneers has come to a close with many cliffhangers and loose threads to dissect.
With the help of Mrs. St. George (Christina Hendricks), Nan (Kristine Frøseth) cooks up a plan to announce her pregnancy at midnight at the ball in a classic Cinderella fairytale fashion, but it turns out the time is up on this fantasy life as Theo (Guy Remmers) takes the moment to abdicate his position as Duke of Tintagel in order to divorce Nan and eventually marry Lizzy Elmsworth (Aubri Ibrag).
“Absolutely everything’s up for grabs, and none of the things that she thought were certain are certain anymore, except for the fact that [Nan]’s got [Theo]’s child in her stomach, and he doesn’t know about it,” series creator-showrunner Katherine Jakeways told Deadline. “He doesn’t know that child exists.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers for the finale of Season 2 of The Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers star Kristine Frøseth is proud of Nan for choosing herself in the Season 2 finale following some twists and turns at the masquerade ball.
This choice set Season 2’s ending apart from that of Season 1, in which Nan chose to marry Theo (Guy Remmers), Duke of Tintagel, in order to protect her sister Jinny (Imogen Waterhouse) from her abusive husband, James Seadown (Barney Fishwick). In other ways, though, the ending mirrors how Jinny escaped with Nan running away into the fog with a relieved look on her face.
“I think she makes the right choice at the end of Episode 8 by doing what she does, which is basically leave. She has this whole new responsibility. The priorities are different,” Frøseth told Deadline. “Up until this point, there’s been so many bombs thrown at her,...

The Buccaneers Season 2 has officially come to an end, and the highlight of it all has been Theo’s (Guy Remmers) monologue to Nan (Kristine Froseth) in Episode 8 titled ‘She Knows.’ All through the season, there have been instances about women’s empowerment and their voice. This is the first instance where we see a suffering Theo voice out his built-up emotion in the most brutal manner.
“You’ve taken my freedom. You’ve stamped on my heart. You’ve threatened my sanity. You are nobody, and I will not have you here.”
These are Theo’s words to Nan after she presses to stay in Tintagel after she finds out his and Lizzy’s truth. Before these words cut through Nan, she had a confrontation with Lizzy, who also did not spare her.
“You had slept with Theo’s best friend with your wedding dress hanging in the room.

Apple TV's perfect Bridgerton replacement is climbing the global streaming charts ahead of its season 2 finale. Based on Julia Quinn's romance novels, each season of Netflix's popular period drama follows a different member of the eponymous noble family as they find love in a historically alternative version of Regency-era London.
Bridgerton's cast includes names like Jonathan Bailey, Nicola Coughlan, Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, and Simone Ashley, many of whom have been catapulted to greater fame courtesy of the series. Since its debut in 2020, Bridgerton has consistently been one of Netflix's most-watched series, with seasons 1 and 3 both ranking among the streamer's top 10 most popular shows of all time worldwide.
As a result, there have been many shows similar to Bridgerton attempting to capitalize on its success, including Prime Video's My Lady Jane, which was controversially canceled after one season in August 2024. Now, another Bridgerton replacement is rising up the global streaming charts,...

Following the tragic elements of Episode 6 from Jinny’s asylum confinement to the death of Lord Richard Marable, The Fourth Marquess of Brightlingsea, Episode 7 of The Buccaneers also delves into the dark themes of divorce and infidelity, but a moment of joy arrives about halfway through the penultimate episode set to Taylor Swift’s “Lover.”
After Nan (Kristine Frøseth) testifies at Patricia St. George’s (Christina Hendricks) court hearing to support Patti’s want of a divorce from Colonel Tracy St. George (Adam James), she leaves the room to find that Guy Thwarte (Matthew Broome) has come to support her, as a friend.
“[It was] so so sweet. I never know what song they’re gonna put on. That’s always exciting to see after they’ve edited, what’s chosen,” Frøseth told Deadline. “Obviously, [I’m] so here for Taylor Swift always. So that was exciting.”

Jinny St. George learned the hard way that Lord James Seadown has not changed as she might have wished after her time away in “The Buccaneers.”
After fleeing to Italy to hide out from her abusive husband and protect her son, Seadown (Barney Fishwick) found her and attempted to weasel his way back into her good graces. His coaxing could only go so far though, and when Jinny wouldn’t budge, he took what he knew she loved most — their son Freddie.
This is where Episode 6 of the Apple TV+ series took a grim turn. Immy Waterhouse, who plays the exiled Duchess’ sister and wife to Seadown, unpacked how she prepared for her character’s mammoth installment.

Spoiler Alert: This piece spoils Episode 6 of The Buccaneers Season 2.
As the tension between Jinny (Imogen Waterhouse) and her estranged husband Lord James Seadown (Barney Fishwick) reaches its peak in the sixth episode of Season 2, things take a turn as not everyone survives the ongoing battle between the couple for custody of their son Freddie.
Seadown, a verbally and physically abusive man who first mistreated Lizzy Elmsworth (Aubri Ibrag) in Season 1, began to hit Jinny after they married, causing Jinny’s half sister Nan (Kristine Froseth) and their friends to band together, distract Seadown and send pregnant Jinny away in a carriage with Nan’s love Guy Thwarte (Matthew Broome) while Nan made the ultimate sacrifice to marry Theo (Guy Remmers), Duke of Tintagel in the Season 1 finale.
As of Episode 6 Lord Richard Marable (Josh Dylan) has become a casualty of the fray, dying by gunshot at the hands of his brother.

The Buccaneers novel by Edith Wharton revealed who Nan St. George ended up with, and it is an intriguing choice. Apple TV+ adapted The Buccaneers on the small screen, and one of the anchors of its story is the romantic journey of the carefree and adventurous Nan St. George (Kristine Frøseth). Aside from the bombshell twist that Patti St. George was not Nan's real biological mother, much of her journey in Season 1 was mainly focused on the love triangle between Nan, the Duke of Tintagel, Theo (Guy Remmers), and his best friend Guy (Matthew Broome).

The new season of the series has garnered a 71% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a slight drop compared to the Certified Fresh score of 76% when the show first aired in 2023. When fans were first introduced to the vibrant characters of Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel, there was a lot of potential.
The Buccaneers follows five American women in the 1870s as they search for status and marriages across the pond. Culture clash is at the center of the series, as well as all the hallmarks of a typical historical romance. Love triangles, scandal, and friendship power a series about an era long since passed. Apple TV+'s lavish period drama, The Buccaneers, has returned for season 2, and while critics are a little less receptive, audiences love the show's second outing. The Buccaneers, based on Edith Wharton's final 1938 unfinished novel (it was later completed by Marion Mainwaring in 1993), follows Gilded Age debutante Nan St. George (Kristine Frøseth) and her friends as they travel from America to England to experience the social season. In the season 1 finale, Nan married Theo, the Duke of Tintagel (Guy Remmers), to save her sister Jinny (Imogen Waterhouse) from an abusive marriage, despite being in love with someone else.
The Buccaneers season 2 picks up right where season 1 left off, with an unexpected wedding guest appearing at Nan and Theo's wedding reception. Season 2 has debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a critics' score of 71%, which is a little lower than season 1's certified fresh score of 76%. The audience score, however, tells a different story,...

Nan St. George has officially become the Duchess of Tintagel, as Season 2 of Apple TV+’s “The Buccaneers” picks up minutes from where its first season concluded.
Her new title is not the only thing that the protagonist must contend with as she enters this new stage in her life. Nan (Kristine Froseth) married Theo (Guy Remmers) for the security of her social status, but her heart still remains with Guy after she slept with him the night before her wedding.
Her sister Jinny escaped her abusive husband Lord James Seadown with Nan’s love interest Guy to protect her. And Nan’s birth mother, who she has never met, attended her wedding.
The duchess has found herself in a new heap of messes to say the least.

Two years may have passed in real time, but “The Buccaneers” Season 2 picks up just moments after we left Nan St. George at the altar. For the executive producers, the Season 1 cliffhanger was a luxury.
Wedding bells chime as the seemingly happy couple, the newly crowned Duke and Duchess of Tintagel, leave the ceremony, but Nan (Kristine Froseth)’s world has been turned upside down. To save her sister Jinny from her abusive husband Lord Seadown, she sends her away with the love of her life, Guy Thwarte (Matthew Broome). Now the duchess must contend with not only her duty to her new husband but also her duty to her title.
The executive producers said that they “love the love triangle” and clouding Nan’s judgment. Executive producer and writer Katherine Jakeways said that they diverted from the books in Season 1 because they wanted to make a more nuanced and surprising love triangle,...

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for The Buccaneers season 2.Leighton Meester recently addressed her new role in The Buccaneers season 2 and the shocking revelation about Nan St. George's (Kristine Frøseth) family that went along with it. There was a big revelation about Nan's family in The Buccaneers season 1: Patti (Christina Hendricks) isn't her biological mother. Nan's father, Tracy (Adam James), was unfaithful to his wife, and Nan was born out of wedlock. The ending of the season, however, set up The Buccaneers season 2 to introduce Nan's biological mother. Now, the premiere has already introduced her to the cast of The Buccaneers along with a shocking twist.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Leighton Meester spoke about her new character in The Buccaneers season 2, Nell, and the fact that she's Nan's biological mother and Patti's sister.
"That element of the secret is so deep and dark. It wasn't just that Nan was born out of wedlock.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers for the first episode of The Buccaneers Season 2.
The Buccaneers are back for a second season, which premiered June 18 on Apple TV+, with a new famous face in tow — Leighton Meester.
Meester makes her appearance and debut in the elegant, elaborate world of the period piece — set during The Gilded Age in America and England — on the heels of Nan’s (Kristine Frøseth) wedding to Theo (Guy Remmers), The Duke of Tintagel. Her presence causes quite a stir between Nan’s parents Patricia St. George (Christina Hendricks) and Colonel Tracy St. George (Adam James), who debate the reason for her attendance at Nan’s wedding in hushed whispers.
“It’s a really fun part because it’s immediately a juicy mic drop,” Meester told Deadline ahead of the show’s Season 2 premiere. “But then, thankfully I did get a chance to really get to...

At long last, Season 2 of The Buccaneers is almost here on Apple TV+ to pick up with the titular young American women after their explosion onto the scene in Gilded Age London back in 2023. Although things began in high spirits as the ambitious and extroverted friends navigated English high society and courted suitors, the Season 1 finale left things on a bleak note, with each of the women forced to accept a reality they did not desire. Chief among them is Nan (Kristine Frøseth), who marries a man she doesn't love to become the Duchess of Tintagel, the most influential woman in the country, to protect her sister, Jinny (Imogen Waterhouse), from the wrath of her abusive husband. Collider now has an exclusive sneak peek from the premiere showing how Nan is dealing with the fallout of giving up the rest of her life with a little support from Conchita (Alisha Boe...

Boy oh boy are we excited about The Buccaneers season 2 on Apple TV+! The first season of the historical drama certainly brought with it romance, twists and turns, and big plot twists we didn't see coming. I have no doubt that the second season will be the same, and it looks so intriguing based on the trailer.
The Buccaneers season 2 premieres Wednesday, June 18, 2025 with the first episode on Apple TV+. The release schedule will remain the same through the finale, which will debut on Aug. 6, 2025. There's a total of eight episodes, just like season 1. Ready to check out the trailer? Watch it below!
What to expect from The Buccaneers season 2
Ok, wow. Where do I begin? Well, Nan and Theo are in honeymoon bliss. At least, Theo is. Nan, not so much. She's clearly trying to put Guy behind her and forget about him, though it's much easier said than done.

This declaration comes after Nan had to make a difficult decision and marry Theo (Guy Remmers), Duke of Tintagel, so that her flame Guy Thwarte (Matthew Broome) could help Nan’s sister Ginny (Imogen Waterhouse) escape from her abusive husband Lord James Seadown (Barney Fishwick).

One of the most oddly divisive movies to come from Prime Video recently is getting a sequel. Likened upon release to a Fast and Furious-style thriller with a controversial romance at its center, the movie proved to be a major hit with audiences despite some scathing reviews from critics. Clearly, the critical response will not stop the franchise from trying to step up a gear in a follow-up.
Released on Amazon Prime Video back in February, My Fault: London proved to be a surprise hit on the streaming platform. Now, the romance thriller, which is itself a remake of the hit Spanish-language Culpa mía (My Fault) franchise, will not only get a sequel, but two sequels, wrapping up with a trilogy.

Exclusive: Dani Girdwood and Charlotte Fassler, the directors of My Fault: London, will be back behind the camera for the follow-up movie, Your Fault: London.
The Amazon Prime Video films are the English-language take on the smash-hit Spanish-language Culpables movies, adapted from Mercedes Ron’s Wattpad novels. The streamer has just greenlit Your Fault: London and Our Fault: London, meaning the trilogy will be complete in English as well as Spanish.
Girdwood and Fassler have now signed on for the second movie, Deadline understands. With the duo returning, the gang have gotten back together. Asha Banks and Matthew Broome are already confirmed to reprise their roles as Noah and Nick, characters first made famous on-screen by Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara in the Spanish movies.
