Biography

    • Cristian Sitjas is a film director and intimacy coordinator from Barcelona that developed his professional career in the Catalan capital. After starting off his education at EMAV, he completed a master's degree in Art Direction at ESCAC where he received a scholarship from the school itself to complete a master's degree in Film Directing. During this period, he wrote and directed the short films Violeta, Placebo and The Death of Oso. All of them have been released at national and international film festivals. Meanwhile, he did a master's degree in Screenwriting at Showrunners BCN School where he wrote his first feature film script.

Alongside his studies, he has worked as a second and third assistant director in films such as Sinjar, directed by Anna M. Bofarull and played by Nora Navas, or The Mother starring Jennifer Lopez and also in the series Who is Erin Carter? (Netflix) and Mrs. Davis (Warner Bros). Due to his interest in exploring new languages and narratives within audiovisuals, he worked at the feminist erotic film producer Erika Lust, where he wrote and directed the short film Catboy, which is currently in distribution.

He is currently immersed in the development of his first fiction feature film and the pre-production of a short film. In both projects, Cristian explores the limits of the human being regarding pleasure, pain, sadness or the seek for an escape, all in scenarios that break with what we know as normative.
