Check out pic above as the corporation recreates the Triceratops, Pachyrhinosaurus and Young Albertosaurus using cutting edge techniques. The new series will air later this year on the BBC, PBS and France Télévisions. Walking with Dinosaurs tells the dramatic story of an individual dinosaur per ep whose remains are currently being unearthed by world-leading dinosaur hunters. The 1999 original was hailed as ground-breaking, and is still considered one of the biggest production triumphs in natural history programming history. The news comes on the same day we revealed Sreya Biswas, the BBC’s head of natural history commissioning, is moving over to production with a newly-created role at BBC Studios Natural History Unit.

Kate del Castillo’s Cholawood, Endemol Shine Boomdog Adapt Arturo Perez Reverte’s Novel ‘Revolution’
Image
Mexico City-based Endemol Shine Boomdog has seized the adaptation rights to “La Reina del Sur” author Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s novel, “Revolution” (“Revolución”) with Kate del Castillo’s Cholawood on board as executive producers.

Del Castillo, who plays the titular role in the hit Spanish-language adaptation of “La Reina del Sur” will also star in the upcoming series based on the Mexican revolution.

“I am extremely excited to join forces once again with Arturo Pérez-Reverte, especially in a story set in my country. Arturo is undoubtedly a great lover of Mexico’s history… a history that I learned and love thanks to my father and my roots. Arturo and I share a successful professional partnership, and I am confident that ‘Revolución’ will strengthen that success,” she said.

Published in October 2022, “Revolución” delves into the essence of human nature in an adventure that unfolds against the dramatic canvas of the Mexican Revolution...

Kate del Castillo’s ‘Volver a Caer’ Bows on ViX+
Image
“Volver a Caer,” a contemporary Spanish-language retelling of the Leo Tolstoy classic Anna Karenina, debuts exclusively on ViX+ on Jan. 20. It stars Kate del Castillo (“Queen of the South”) whose Cholawood Prods. co-produced the series under its development pact with Endemol Shine Boomdog.

“This is our first mainstream TV series for an international audience,” Del Castillo announced at a special screening of its pilot episode in Los Angeles.

She was joined at the post-screening Q & A by ViX+ chief content officer Rodrigo Mazón and the series’ director Hari Sama, best known for his acclaimed feature “This is Not Berlin,” which premiered at Sundance in 2019. Sama, who is also an executive producer, noted that this was the first TV series where he directed all the episodes.

“Hari had the right sensibility for this show, we insisted on him,” said Del Castillo. Indeed, his cinematic background comes through, elevating the six-episode series with more depth and nuance.

"La Reina del Sur" Star Kate del Castillo Gets Real About the Lack of Strong Latina Roles in Hollywood
Image
Season three of "La Reina del Sur" is finally here, and it's been a long time coming. The Telemundo series has been in the works for over a decade, and it stars Kate del Castillo as Teresa Mendoza, an unlikely cartel queenpin who rises through the ranks of the drug-smuggling world with nothing but her grit and street smarts. This season will show Mendoza in a way we've never seen her, as a spy and as a mother desperately trying to reunite with her daughter, Sofia. For 60 episodes, viewers will follow Mendoza's dangerous adventures through Bolivia, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, and Mexico as part of her new mission to end her life as a fugitive once and for all. "The whole story is growing and maturing in so many ways," del Castillo tells Popsugar. "You're going to see a Teresa Mendoza that we all love but more [of a] warrior. She's a warrior,...

Kate del Castillo Takes Flight Again With ‘La Reina del Sur,’ Tolstoy and Tequila
Image
Playing the anti-hero Teresa Mendoza in Telemundo’s hit drama “La Reina del Sur” (Queen of the South) has become second nature to its star, Kate del Castillo. In a way, her hectic career as a producer, actor and entrepreneur, mirrors her character’s upstream struggle against patriarchy — sans the guns and contraband.

Speaking via Zoom from the U.K. where she’s working on the indie film “A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea & Tomorrow” with director Katherine Fairfax Wright, del Castillo reflected on the parallels between managing the challenges of her multi-faceted career with those faced by Mendoza in the show’s long-awaited third season, which premieres Oct. 18 on Telemundo. “La Reina” is a co-production of Telemundo and Netflix, which has international rights to the series.

The new season sees the titular La Reina taking on the brutal male-dominated cartels of South America once again, picking up four years after U.

Image
“La Reina del Sur” star Kate del Castillo is set to play the lead in “A Beautiful Lie,” a modern take in Spanish on Leo Tolstoy’s “Anna Karenina.”

Del Castillo will also executive produce the series out of her Cholawood Productions label, along with two other forces on the upscale Spanish-language TV scene, premium U.S. Spanish-language streaming platform Pantaya and Endemol Shine Boomdog, a division of Banijay Americas.

The six-part series co-production, based on the 2015 adaptation from Banijay-owned Endemol Shine Australia, will represent a modern retelling of Tolstoy’s celebrated novel, his first real novel by his own estimation and reckoned by many to be one of the greatest works of fiction ever written.

“A Beautiful Lie” is announced as an event series – a status that is almost inevitable in any major fiction starring Del Castillo and backed by companies of the ambition of Esb and Pantaya.

“Elite...
