Exclusive: Gabriel Chavarria (Selena: The Series) is set to executive produce and star in Real Ones, an indie drama from director Nick Anderson, who wrote the script with Alma Leiva.
In the film produced by Justin Nesbitt, the actor will play Joseph, a sharp-witted ex-con fighting to rebuild his life after prison while resisting the pull of his criminal past. Faced with prejudice and the risk of losing his family, Joseph takes a legitimate job at a law firm to prove his worth and redefine himself. Exclusive: Twilight actors Kellan Lutz and Cam Gigandet are reuniting on screen for the first time in action crime-thriller Desert Dawn.
While Lutz and Gigandet’s characters clashed in Twilight, this time the actors team up as the newly appointed small-town sheriff (Lutz) and his begrudging deputy (Gigandet) who get tangled in a web of lies and corruption involving shady businessmen and the cartel while investigating the murder of a mysterious woman.
L.A.-based sales and production outfit Premiere Entertainment Group is behind the project, which began filming this week in Nevada. The production received a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement to allow filming during the union strikes.
Marty Murray (Paranormal Island) directs the movie from an original screenplay by Chad Law and Johnny Walters.
Premiere’s Elias Axume produces with Al Bravo of Al Bravo Films. Jason Abustan and Mehrab H. Deboo executive-produce alongside Carlos Rincon.

The story follows a former-operative-turned-professional-thief (Lundgren) contracted by the CIA to break into and take information from the safe at a top secret Mexican prison facility.
