The Monsters and Labubu have been growing in popularity ever since their collaboration with Pop Mart in 2019. Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation on Tuesday unveiled new cast additions for their upcoming The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants movie, with Regina Hall, Sherry Cola, Arturo Castro, George Lopez and Ice Spice joining the ensemble. The four-time Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum-selling rapper will also contribute an original song to the film.

They join returning cast members Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) and Mark Hamill (Flying Dutchman) in the feature directed Derek Drymon and written by Pam Brady and Matt Lieberman.

The log line for the film has SpongeBob and friends journeying to the depths of the ocean to face the ghost of the Flying Dutchman. The film is set for a December release.

Ramsey Naito, President of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation, announced the new voice cast members during a presentation at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Tuesday.

Naito said that the studios had a busy six months ahead with the release of Smurfs in July, and The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants in December.

Paramount Animation’s Smurfs unveiled its full soundtrack list just days ahead of its June 13, 2025 release. The soundtrack’s 14 tracks include songs from Rihanna, Tyla, DJ Khaled, Cardi B, and Shenseea. Rihanna also stars as Smurfette in the family friendly feature film opening in theaters on July 18th.

We have sad news from the world of music today as Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, has passed away.

He was just 70 years old.

According to TMZ, Ronald passed away at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles this week.

Ronald Fenty reportedly passed away after a long illness

TMZ also reports that the death was not entirely unexpected.

Just when you think coming-of-age animated series “Big Mouth” on Netflix couldn’t be any raunchier, co-creator and star Nick Kroll reveals the time that he and his cohorts realized they probably went too far.

“Maury [Kroll] was allowed to have sex with the decapitated skull of Garrison Keillor, and this was before Keillor went down, mind you, and [Netflix] still let that go,” Kroll told me Thursday at the show’s series finale premiere at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Allegations of violence are all but synonymous with the notorious rapper. No one expects these stories to end as long as he remains free.

But despite everything about Brown, Bieber is showering him with support after his latest arrest. Gross!

His post, as you can see below, shows the infamous rapper walking away from a private jet.

Notably, his freedom comes at a price.

Mubi acquired German drama Sound of Falling, the biggest unanticipated breakout of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, for distribution in multiple territories including North America. The film hails from director Mascha Schilinski and follows four girls, Alma (Hanna Heckt), Erika (Lea Drinda), Angelika (Lena Urzendowsky), and Lenka (Laeni Geiseler), who each grow up on the same farm in northern Germany at different times. "As the home evolves over a century, echoes of the past linger in its walls," according to the synopsis. "Though separated by time, their lives begin to mirror each other."
