Mikal Hovland is a director known for the hit «Christmas on Cobbler Street» (2023) which spent #1 for seven weeks at the box office in Norway with more than 400.000 admissions, and the most seen Norwegian film of 2023. He has also directed drama and comedy for TV, numerous commercials, and his short films have been shown at Tribeca, Palm Springs International Shortfest, Tampere Film Festival, Nordisk Panorama and California Independent Film Festival. In 2013 he was nominated for Young Director Award at the Cannes Lions for the commercial "The Crime Scene".
