Mikey D, also known as Michael Deering is an American battle rapper hailed from Queens, New York. With dope rhymes, admirable appeal, and devoted fanatics, Mikey D's rise to fame during the 80s was a loud affair throughout the entire hip-hop community. He become the winner of the prestigious 1988 New Music Seminar Battle For World Supremacy.

With a wide knowledge and history about his golden days with hip-hop, Mikey D is certainly Queen's unforgettable artist. He is currently the Founder and CEO of Pass The Torch Distribution, which is powered by Who?Mag Multimedia. Mikey D also casually visits the recording studio and pens fiery verses for up-and-coming rappers. Under Pass The Torch Distribution, he released his full-scale EP, "Talkin That Shhhh!" last September 11. The title track that served as its lead single has now crossed more than six thousand streams on Spotify.

He has worked with the legendary producers Paul C Mckasty and DJ Johnnie Quest in the early 80s. Additionally, he was the rapper for Mikey D and The L.A. Posse. The group has released a handful of records during its career namely, "My Telephone", "Dawn", "Bust A Rhyme Mike", "I Get Rough", and "GoFor It". After Large Professor pursued a solo career, Mikey saw the opportunity and later became the lead rapper of Main Source in 1993. After heading to the studio, the group dropped their second album, "F*ck What You Think", as the sequel of their debut record, "Breaking Atoms", under Wild Pitch Records in 1994. The body of work featured The LOX's, formerly known as The Warlocks, debut performance. Their single "What You Need" became a hit during that time, even landing a spot on the music-dance television program, Soul Train. What was even more impressive was Madonna using the single as a sample for her 1994 smash hit "Human Nature" off from the album, "Bedtime Stories'', which has earned a triple platinum certification from RIAA.

However, life was a ferris wheel for Mikey D. One moment he was on top, the next thing he knew he reached the bottom. Due to disputes between the management and their record label, their planned project was put to a halt. Disheartened by the progress of the conflict, the veteran rapper stepped away from the limelight.

In spite of his absence from the hip-hop community, Mikey D never surrendered his passion for rap. With so much time left by focusing on his family and on himself, Mikey D continuously improved his artistic bandwidth and fortunately perfected his craft.
