Biography

    • Mike Etoll is first a showoff, and foremost a huckster of images, sounds and the fog and hair gel that obscures them. Not so much a filmmaker, but a CAREFULLY ORCHESTRATED PERSONA/VISIONARY OF THE RANDOM AND SUPERFICIAL who throws blurry images together in pseudo-artistic order FOR PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR! Puffing life-breath into cheap party favors, reanimating dead squirrel legs, and RUBBER UGLIES with Elmer's glue injections, while burning laser blast holes into plastic UFO's to the music of crickets, far off cat meows, and a chorus of chirping frogs who sniff crab-apple blossoms, and fart with their eyes closed all summer long, thru the curtains stitched together by his Mom within DELUSIONS of late nite local TV blue radiation in his memory of peace and tranquility of his plastered-with-stuff such as museum mummy postcards, MAD Magazines, construction paper cow tongues, and 3-D movie posters in the childhood bedroom of 1975 where he was taught how to animate with a super 8 camera by his father Joseph of scenic Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, who had a 1/4 of a human brain left over from his Kent State days in an old Skippy Peanut Butter jar locked up on a light green peeling wooden table in the nailed shut vestibule of Grandma Marie's 2nd floor back steps on 4th St.

Existing in the putrid swamp of the semi-visible spirits, populated with plastic baby doll turds, and dime-store skulls, Shooting with broken cameras and layering on the latex, he contributed to obscure films, a few features even cinematic monstrosities of questionable artistic integrity -butt this was for chump-change and nothing else. The mark of a master sell-out!

In a world where quality is blurry at best, an endless row of drab and anonymous houses stained with the blood of innocents and criminals alike, runny noses, tired blood, shuffling zomboid-plebs, E pluribus unum (frames that is) we must struggle to make artwork, and learn to love the taste of macaroni!
