“The Anonymous” has crowned its first-ever winner.
After 15 players went head-to-head while living side-by-side, the USA Network competition named its winner as Nina Twine, who takes home the grand prize of $100,000.
Twine is the daughter of “Survivor” legend Sandra Diaz-Twine, who recently appeared on “The Traitors” Season 2 on Peacock. Following in her mom’s footsteps, Twine first appeared on “Australian Survivor: Blood v. Water,” when she made the notorious move of voting out her own mother, and later returned to the Down Under iteration of the survival show as a hero in “Heroes v. Villains.”
Nina kept her mom’s identity under wraps as she entered “The Anonymous,” though her fellow contestants made it impossible for her to truly deny the connection, even if she tried.
Twine was among several contestants of “The Anonymous” already in the public eye prior to their casting. Her castmates included Xavier E. Prather, who...

When it comes to Netflix's reality series The Circle, there are several questions about the filming process of The Circle behind the scenes. Even though the players reside in apartments in the same building, they never meet in person or hear each others voices, only communicating through a voice-activated instant messaging system called Circle and sharing status updates and photos via a profile -- which doesn't have to be accurate to the real them.
It's tough to believe The Circle has already completed six seasons in just over four short years, with one more already filmed for later in 2024. The episodes remain continuously addictive as players strategize and chat with others, not knowing if they really are who they say they are. Every season has its own twists, including season four, which has Scary Spice and Baby Spice catfish as a young male children's author. Each season is spicier...

Toni Ireland doesn’t mince words when it comes to describing how she feels about Alan Cumming and his abilities as host of “The Traitors” on Peacock. “I mean, how perfect is he? He’s just the dream person to work with.” The show’s executive producer reveals that Cumming immediately understood what they were going for with the program. “He understood the kind of character that we wanted him to play. He was completely up for it. Obviously he’s Scottish, which is fantastic. He’s an actor, which leans into this incredible role and the scripts are purposefully sort of Shakespearean in quality and he delivers it so brilliantly,” she tells Gold Derby during our recent Meet the Experts: Reality & Nonfiction TV panel (watch the exclusive video interview here).

Peacock’s The Traitors is up for four Emmy Awards for its second season, and host Alan Cumming opened up about what he loves about the reality competition.
“I really just love this show. I love being at the castle. I love everybody there. It’s such a fun thing to do,” Cumming said on the virtual panel for Deadline’s Contenders TV: The Nominees. “What was great the second time around is we’re back all in the swing of it a bit more. And everyone was a bit more confident because we’d done one already, and the show had been a success. And now we really kind of hit our stride.”

USA Network’s newest reality television show is set to premiere this month. The Anonymous is a new social experiment show from the creators behind hit shows like The Circle and The Traitors. Here is what you need to know about the show and how you can stream it once it’s out.
What Is The Anonymous About?
The main thing that sets The Anonymous apart from other social experiment shows is that contestants will be able to truly express themselves. It aims to intertwine two different worlds: the real world and a world where you can be totally anonymous. Each person has complete anonymity by wearing a mask.
Twelve players will compete to win $100,000. The name of the game is deceit. Each of the 12 people in the game will aim to outwit and outmaneuver the next person. It promises twists and turns, as well as unexpected alliances.

The second installment of Peacock’s reality TV show “The Traitors” absolutely exploded in terms of audience visibility and critical acclaim, and now producer Toni Ireland is admitting that she’s “really overwhelmed by the success.” As she explains, “One of the key things that we changed in Season 2 was to go for an all celebrity cast. We had a mixed cast in Season 1, which was brilliant and worked really nicely for us. But then we sort of changed to an all celebrity cast,” with many of them becoming “fan favorites.” Watch the exclusive video interview above.
This time around, the cast featured famous faces from shows like “Big Brother,” “Survivor,” “The Challenge” and “The Real Housewives,” plus sports stars and political leaders. “Squid Game: The Challenge” will premiere next week with a prize worth millions on the line. And no one can be trusted in this competition series that was inspired by the hit South Korean thriller “Squid Game.”
“Squid Game: The Challenge” was first ordered in June 2022, less than a year after the premiere of “Squid Game.” The 10-episode show is a co-production between Studio Lambert and The Garden, which is part of ITV Studios. Stephen Lambert, Tim Harcourt, and Toni Ireland from Studio Lambert and John Hay, Nicola Hill, and Nicola Brown from The Garden serve as executive producers.
The show is a spin-off reality competition inspired by the streamer’s successful title, “Squid Game.” That nine-episode Korean language series is centered on financially broken contestants who are invited to play children’s games for a cash prize — but not only are the stakes high, they’re deadly. The show debuted on Netflix Sept.

You’d think that volunteering to go on a reality TV series based on a show about a deadly competition would mean you were prepared to at least fake die — but based on the new trailer for “Squid Game: The Challenge,” that thought didn’t occur to every contestant.
In the new promo for the unscripted show, which debuts Nov. 22 on Netflix and will roll out new episodes through Dec. 6, 456 people are competing for the $4.56 million prize being offered, just like it was in the first season of the streamer’s Korean-language hit “Squid Game.” Of course, in this game, people’s lives aren’t actually on the line — but they still get fake “shot” during a game of “Squid Game’s” most iconic activity, Red Light, Green Light, and go tumbling to their “death” off a bridge in a later challenge. And being fake-killed is still shocking, as the first one “hit” goes “Oh,...

Familiar facing joining Season 2 include Maksim Chmerkovskiy of “Dancing With the Stars,” Phaedra Parks of “Married to Medicine” and “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” two-time “Survivor” winner Sandra Diaz-Twine, Tamra Judge of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” and Bachelor Nation alum Peter Weber.
Unfolding in a remote castle in the Scottish Highlands, host Alan Cumming guides the contestants through a series of challenges with the aim of winning $250,000. However, the contestants deemed “the Traitors” will come up with a plan to steal the prize from the contestants deemed “the Faithful.”

“The world’s most notorious game becomes reality.”
That’s how Netflix is describing its new competition series, Squid Game: The Challenge that’s dropping in November.
The streamer didn’t reveal much about the game based on its runaway hit Squid Game, other than to show how they transformed a massive warehouse into a spot where 456 players will compete or a $4.56M cash prize – the largest cash prize ever for a reality series.
The ten-part series will see contestants competing in a series of games inspired by the show plus some new ones and their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them.
It is produced by Studio Lambert, the All3Media-backed producer behind Netflix series such as The Circle, and Peacock/BBC hit The Traitors, and The Garden, the ITV Studios-backed producer behind Channel 4 ob-doc series 24 Hours in A&e....

The positive response to the Dutch reality series De Verraders has brought different versions of The Traitors to many countries, but executive producer Toni Ireland says the biggest challenge for her was to ensure that the U.S. production stood out in the crowd. Peacock’s The Traitors brings together a group of everyday people and reality TV stars in an elaborate murder-mystery competition hosted by Alan Cumming. Perhaps the biggest change in the U.S. series was in how the game ended, which led to a shocking finale where the group needed to unanimously decide to either trust their fellow finalists and split the money or call for another elimination vote if they believe a traitor is still among them.
‘The Traitors’
Deadline: What has the response been like for the series in the U.S.?
Toni Ireland: Oh, it’s been fantastic. It’s been great. The first series are always tricky,...

This story about “The Traitors” first appeared in the Limited Series/Movies issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
As a competition series mixing physical challenges, psychological warfare and reality TV star power, “The Traitors” gave Peacock one of its first watercooler shows.
Based on a Dutch format and produced by Studio Lambert (“The Circle”), the show is set in a castle in Scotland and featured 20 players in its first season, made up of reality television personalities like “Big Brother 22: All Stars” winner Cody Calafiore and “Below Deck” star Kate Chastain,” along with regular folks. The players, who are known as “Faithfuls,” work together to grow the collective prize pool of up to $250,000.
But among them are three covert “Traitors” selected by host Alan Cumming who decide to “murder” a Faithful each night — after those Faithfuls have kicked out a player in the hopes of flushing out the Traitors. It’s Mafia meets “Big Brother,...

The Traitors has been a breakout hit in the unscripted world, with one exec saying that it did for the global formats genre what Top Gun: Maverick did for the summer blockbuster.
For Deadline’s Contenders Television: Documentary + Unscripted event, host Alan Cumming, contestants Cirie Fields and Kate Chastain and exec producer Toni Ireland talked up the James Bond- and Cruella de Vil-style outfits, Fields’ winning strategy and how the show will change for its second season on Peacock.
Cumming never had hosted a reality series before and said he played it up like a “James Bond villain.” “I loved how fun and inventive I could be with this. I’m basically playing a character … so it’s subverting the form in a way,” he said.
His outfits were notable, particularly the plaid kilts and capes. “Capes are the new black,” he joked.

Fair warning to certain right-wing politicians. Deadline’s Contenders Television: Documentary + Unscripted virtual event, which kicks off its 2023 edition Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. Pt, will feature the appearance of … (dramatic pause) … drag queens. Miss Isabelle Brooks and Luxx Noir London are among the RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants joining us to talk about Season 15 of the MTV unscripted series. Not only that, but Grammy-winning recording artist Lizzo – an ally of the LGBTQ+ community who boldly invited several RuPaul’s Drag Race all-stars onto the stage at her recent Nashville concert — is also coming by to spill the tea on her HBO Max film Love, Lizzo, which documents her Cuz I Love You world tour.

The BBC is staying 100% loyal to “The Traitors.”
The public broadcaster officially greenlit a second season of the smash hit reality series, which is the biggest entertainment launch for the BBC in two years. Casting is now open for the next competition.
“The Traitors,” which aired in December, has had 34 million views on BBC streaming service iPlayer. The Studio Lambert-produced show was the biggest new series for young audiences across all BBC titles last year, and the highest rating new entertainment series on the public broadcaster since at least 2017 for young audiences.
Referencing her legendary knitwear on Season 1, host Claudia Winkleman said: “I can’t wait to go back to the castle to watch people play the greatest game on television. I’m knitting a high funnel sweater immediately.”
Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC, says: “Last year’s ambitious and bingeable hit ‘The Traitors’ with Claudia...
