Borderline trailer: comedic thriller starring Samara Weaving gets a theatrical and digital release in March

Two and a half years have gone by since we heard that genre regular Samara Weaving was starring in the comedic thriller Borderline, which was filming in Vancouver with The Babysitter: Killer Queen and Cocaine Bear writer Jimmy Warden (who happens to be married to Weaving) at the helm, making his feature directorial debut. Now, a trailer for the film has arrived online, and you can check it out in the embed above!

Borderline will be getting a theatrical and digital release, courtesy of Magnet Releasing, on March 14th.

Warden’s Borderline script, which was once featured on the Black List, centers on a helplessly romantic sociopath who escapes from a mental institution and invades the home of a ’90s pop superstar. He just wants to be loved; she just wants to survive.

Filming wraps on Josh Duhamel serial killer action thriller The Neglected

Deadline reports that filming has wrapped on a serial killer action thriller called The Neglected, which was shot in Mississippi and stars Josh Duhamel (Shotgun Wedding). Duhamel’s co-stars include Dylan Sprouse (The Duel), Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds), Jeremy London (Mallrats), Jason London (Dazed and Confused), and Elena Sanchez (Devil’s Peak).

Directed and produced by David Lipper, who also crafted the script with Adam G. Levine, The Neglected tells the story of Detective Shaw (Josh Duhamel), who is about to retire when he finds out on his last day of work that a serial killer has buried his son alive. He then races against the clock to solve three murders and find his son’s location before he runs out of air.

BondIt Media Capital provided the financing. Lipper is producing the film alongside Robert A. Daly Jr. of Latigo, Mark Canton, Dorothy Canton, Denise Loren, Mark Fasano, and Ryan Winterstern.

Exclusive: Josh Duhamel (Shotgun Wedding), Dylan Sprouse (The Duel) and Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds) have just wrapped on the Mississippi production of The Neglected, an action thriller co-written, directed and produced by David Lipper (Murder at Hollow Creek), for which Red Sea Media is handling sales.

In the film, Detective Shaw (Duhamel) is about to retire when he finds out on his last day of work that a serial killer has buried his son alive. He then races against the clock to solve three murders and find his son’s location before he runs out of air.

Also starring Jeremy and Jason London and Elena Sanchez, the film is co-written by Adam G. Levine and Lipper, who produced alongside Robert A. Daly Jr. for Latigo, along with Mark Canton (300), Dorothy Canton, Denise Loren, Mark Fasano and Ryan Winterstern. Exec producers include Roman Kopelevich, Justin Levine, Timothy Alek Mulley, and Kimberly Hines.

I always enjoy seeing the horror and Western genres get mixed together, so as soon as I saw that the upcoming film Place of Bones is being described as “action-packed horror Western,” I was sold on checking it out. I didn’t even have to watch a trailer to know I want to see how the movie has turned out – but distributor The Avenue has unveiled a trailer for Place of Bones, and you can check it out in the embed above. The film is set to receive a theatrical and digital release on August 23rd.

Audrey Cummings, who credits include the films Tormented, Darken, and She Never Died, as well as episodes of the TV shows The Haunted Museum, Ginny & Georgia, and Astrid and Lilly Save the World, directed Place of Bones from a screenplay by Richard Taylor, whose credits stretch back to the 1978 car chase flick Stingray...

The Exchange adds ‘Crescent City’ to EFM slate (exclusive)

The Exchange has acquired international sales to thriller Crescent City, adding the title to its slate for next week’s European Film Market (EFM).

The crime mystery, currently in post-production, stars Terrence Howard, Esai Morales, Alec Baldwin and Nicky Whelan. Rj Collins directs from a screenplay by Rich Ronat. Producers are Eduard Osipov of Beno Films, Vince Jolivette of Filmopoly, David Lipper, Denise Loren and Robert A Daly Jr of Latigo Films, and Maurice Compte.

Crescent City is the story of a twisted murder that sends three detectives on a whirlwind investigation.

Samara Weaving, Eric Dane and Ray Nicholson will star in Jimmy Warden’s “Borderline,” a new comedic thriller that is currently in production in Vancouver. The film centers around a helplessly romantic sociopath who escapes from a mental institution and invades the home of a ’90s pop superstar. He just wants to be loved; she just wants to survive.

“Borderline” marks the directorial debut of Warden, who also wrote the film, which appeared on the Black List, a highly-regarded annual survey of the most-liked scripts.

“Mrs Harris Goes to Paris” star Alba Baptista and “The Last Black Man in San Francisco’s” Jimmie Fails round out the cast on this hot title. The film is produced by LuckyChap Entertainment’s Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara, Red A Entertainment’s Hadeel Reda, and Brian Duffield.

CAA Signs Robert A. Daly Jr. & David Lipper’s Latigo Films

Exclusive: Robert A. Daly Jr. & David Lipper have brought their up-and-coming production company Latigo Films to CAA. The pair will now work with the agency and its Media Finance department to arrange financing for and sell the distribution rights to Latigo Films’ productions, with a particular focus on action, and other genres such as rom-coms and thrillers.

Daly and Lipper founded Latigo Films less than a year ago and have already produced five features under their banner. Their first is the romance My Favorite Girlfriend, starring Bonnie Piesse (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Tyler Johnson (The Young and the Restless), which Saban Films will release in select theaters on August 5.

Other upcoming titles from the company include the noir Joe Baby, starring Dichen Lachan (Severance), Willa Fitzgerald (Reacher), Ron Perlman (Nightmare Alley) and Harvey Keitel (Lansky); the action-thriller Hunt Club, starring Mena Suvari and Mickey Rourke; and the ensemble action-thriller Murder at Hollow Creek.
