I’ll always primarily think of Greg Sestero as the young Andre Toulon from Full Moon‘s 1999 release Retro Puppet Master, but for many movie fans he is best known for playing the role of Mark in director Tommy Wiseau’s “disasterpiece” The Room. After the experience of working on The Room, Sestero wrote a book about the making of the film that was called The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made, which served as the basis for the movie The Disaster Artist. Now Sestero has made his feature directorial debut with the horror film Miracle Valley, and Deadline reports that the film is going to be released through the Tubi streaming service on September 16th. A full trailer has been released for the James Franco-directed thriller Child of God. This is going to be a harsh, dramatic film. The story follows "a dispossessed, violent man whose life is a disastrous attempt to exist outside the social order. Successively deprived of parents and homes and with few other ties, Ballard descends literally and figuratively to the level of a cave dweller as he falls deeper into crime and degradation."

The movie is an adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel, and it stars Jim Parrack, Tim Blake Nelson, Scott Haze, Jeremy Ambler, Fallon Goodson, Vince Jolivette, Brian Lally, Nina Ljeti, Terrance Huff, Elena McGhee, and Nathan Mohebbi.

Child of God will get a limited released starting on August 1st.

Offering up a creepy clip for your Thursday afternoon (June 26), Well Go USA Entertainment released a trailer for “Child of God.”

Starring Scott Haze, the flick follows a violent and disturbed man who tries to live outside the laws of accepted social order.

“Child of God” is directed by James Franco who also stars in the film alongside Tim Blake Nelson, Jim Parrack, Fallon Goodson, Jeremy Ambler and Jolivett.

The intense film is co-written by Vince Jolivette who penned “No Country for Old Men” and set to hit theaters on August 1. Check out the trailer in the player below!

I first read Child of God by Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men, The Road) at the end of the nineties and was blown away by it. Since then it has become one of my favourite novels and one that I’ve re-read a dozen times or more. When I heard that James Franco (Pineapple Express) was directing a feature adaptation of the novel I was concerned, excited and concerned some more. Franco, someone I had seen nothing by in terms of directing, seemed like an odd director and it worried me that a story of such darkness wouldn’t be given the proper respect.

Fast-forward to this week and the DVD release...

Do not mistake Child of God for being a film on a religious topic. It follows Lester Ballard (Scott Haze) who, after a rough childhood, now lives on his own in the forest after being rejected by society. Living by his own rules, Lester is almost feral, his crimes slowly getting worse and more depraved as the film progresses and we follow his life as a man outside of society, and out on his own,

Having never read the book of the same name, written by Cormac McCarthy, I cannot say how closely the film stays true to it. So let’s just say that there is a book and you can check it out if you want.

James Franco has a pretty awesome career acting, directing, teaching, and just being a pretty rad guy. He's got an incredibly intense looking new film coming out that he directed called Child of God, which is based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy. The movie looks really freakin' good, and it looks like it's going to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Here's the teaser trailer for James Franco's big screen adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's Child of God. It's brief, but it gives you a good sense of the tone that the film will have. There's a lot of talent involved with this movie, so I'm sure the movie is going to turn out great.

The Walking Dead Renewed for Season 3, Midseason TV Show Poster. Season 3 of AMC‘s The Walking Dead will be the first season over the thirteen episode limit that the other two seasons comprised of. This announcement came during a Television Critics Association (TCA) Press Tour in Pasadena, CA. “AMC’s international broadcast partner Fox International Channels (Fic) will follow the 16 episode order and structure a similar schedule worldwide.”

The official The Walking Dead press release on the reasoning behind the renewal and the season three extension:

“Season two of the critically acclaimed global hit series continues to deliver the strongest telecasts for any drama in basic cable history against Adults 18-49, as well as, top international pay-tv ratings on Fox International Channels’ (Fic) major markets. “The Walking Dead” is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. Glen Mazzara serves as series’ showrunner and executive producer.

Dead Winter Con, taking place in London, Kentucky, the home state of the founding members of The Liberal Dead, is amping up to be one hell of a get together for die-hard horror fans. Taking place on February 17th-18th, I will be attending on behalf of The Liberal Dead covering the entire convention while celebrating my 30th birthday on the 18th, and I cannot think of a better way to spend it. As a huge Friday the 13th fan, this is sure to be an experience I will never forget with Ari Lehman (and his band First Jason), Kane Hodder, and Victor Miller all in attendance under the same roof.

The more I see from this movie, the more I’m confident that director John Hillcoat (The Proposition) has done right by McCarthy’s bleak vision of post-apocalyptic America. Viggio Mortensen and young Kodi-Smit McPhee look like they have really nailed the lead roles of The Man and The Boy. No matter how gritty they look, you can see their father/son bond holding strong.

Jeremy Ambler, an actor playing a minor character in the upcoming drama The Road, the feature adaptation of the celebrated Cormac McCarthy novel of the same name, recently posted some behind-the-scenes pics of him with a few other actors in costume as the sociopathic cannibals who populate the post-apocalyptic wasteland in which the film takes place. In the film, Viggo Mortensen plays a man crossing this wasteland with his young son in order to find shelter. Click through to check out lots more pics. The film's set for release November 26th.

Our friends over on Quiet Earth snagged a bunch of behind-the-scenes photos from The Road, the much- anticipated adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's Pulitzer-winning novel. They came courtesy of actor Jeremy Ambler, the nice looking fellow to Viggo Mortensen's left. Everyone in the photographs may be smiling (I've never seen cannibal victims look so cheerful!), but I'll be darned if the photo of the Fanker Mansion doesn't send a chill down my spine. We've attached it and a photo of the cannibals in the gallery below -- pretty freaky looks for a very scary scene.

I can't decide if I'm excited for this movie or just plain dreading it. Every glimpse of it makes me go find a puppy and hug it, then watch some YouTube videos of baby pandas for good measure. Get Cute Overload and your Disney DVD's prepped on November 26th -- you're really going to need them.

Normally the launch of a film’s official site comes with, at the very least, some early production artwork. Such is not the case for The Road, John Hilcoat’s adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel, but more has been found that should make up for its lack of content.

Quiet Earth discovered a slew of behind-the-scenes pics from The Road over on the personal website of actor Jeremy Ambler, who plays one of the cannibals in the film. If you have reason to question their legitimacy, look no further than the pic of Ambler with Road star Viggo Mortensen.
