12 Most Successful Baseball Players Who Appeared In 42 (Besides Jackie Robinson)

The movie chronicles Robinson’s journey to becoming the first African-American player to join a Major League Baseball team in the modern era, and all the adversity he faced along the way. Chadwick Boseman stars in 42 as Robinson, giving one of the finest performances of his career. The movie was written and directed by Brian Helgeland of L.A. Confidential fame and is named after Robinson’s jersey number, which was retired across all of Major League Baseball in 1997.

Jackie Robinson is just one of many historical figures from the baseball world to be depicted in 42. The film focuses on Robinson’s mentor-mentee relationship with Brooklyn Dodgers owner Branch Rickey, himself a former player. The ensemble of 42 features both players who were supportive of Robinson,...

When the Los Angeles County Sheriff dies, an arcane rule forged back in the Wild West thrusts the most unlikely man into the job: a fifth-generation lawman (Dorff) who’s more comfortable taking down bad guys than navigating a sea of politics. Adam Scott and Craig Robinson in Ghosted (2017)
‘Ghosted’ Review: Adam Scott’s ‘X-Files’ Comedy Gives You Just Enough Reasons to Believe
Adam Scott and Craig Robinson in Ghosted (2017)
There’s a blunt charm to the exposition dump throughout “Ghosted’s” 22-minute pilot that probably shouldn’t come across. Characters relentlessly badger each other for information. Introductions are made without set-up, and the inexplicable is explained in just a few words. So much emotional backstory is spat out so quickly that it’s hard to see the first episode as anything more than set up. But hey, it’s still fun. Why? For the reasons you already know — all two of them.

Tom Gormican’s (“That Awkward Moment”) new series about an ex-cop and a former professor brought together to investigate paranormal activity lets its main draws shine through in the first episode, as Adam Scott and Craig Robinson prove to be just the pair of gumshoes needed to save the show from itself. Even with welcome comparisons to a comedic “X-Files,” the “Ghosted” pilot relies completely on the...

There is a traditional view of a priest, and they purity they are meant to represent to the people who put their faith in them.
