Just as sports films have captured audiences' hearts, sports anime have risen from the ranks of TV shows or comic-inspired series to become cultural phenomenons. And looking at the most beloved and popular sports anime ever released, it isn't hard to see why.
The best sports anime series deliver compelling character histories, challenges, and victories. They also deliver on important themes like friendship, loss, family, and dedication. If all of that wasn't enough, the top ranks of sports anime have also captured enough acclaim and devotion to not only be recognized as the best of their subgenre, but be seen among the top anime of all time.

My Hero Academia is known for its unbelievably powerful characters. Some Heroes (and Villains) are so powerful that they could easily destroy the world if they wanted to. These overpowered characters have world-breaking abilities that could take over the entire story if they were allowed to do so.
The most overpowered characters have Quirks that make them invincible. One attack from them, and their opponents would be done for. While some characters' Quirks are slightly more complicated than others, they are still much too powerful in a world full of superpowered people. Its no wonder that many of these characters are sidelined, since using their Quirks would prove to be too easy for My Hero Academias resolution.

Adult Swim's adaptation of Junji Ito's renowned horror manga Uzumaki will debut on Saturday, September 28th, and it's already off to an excellent start. As of the time of writing, Uzumaki: Spiral Into Horror has received a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes across five different reviews. Critics have been praising numerous aspects of Uzumaki's adaptation, including its faithfulness to the source, its novel monochrome color palette, and its flawless duplication of the manga's atmosphere.
The stellar accomplishment is certain to be a relief for fans of Junji Ito's unique brand of surreal and macabre horror. Uzumaki centers around a small coastal town whose obsession with spirals devolves into mass hysteria in an all-consuming nightmare, and Adult Swim's highly anticipated Uzumaki adaptation has been subject to several setbacks and delays.
