Ralph Myron Miller was born to Chad and Dorothy Miller, in Redondo Beach, California, and grew up there, and in Baldwin Park, California. Ralph had many vocation changes in his life, working at Montgomery Ward as a television repairman, working for Johnny's TV in Baldwin Park, also as a TV/VCR repairman, and later found a job working for the federal government, working for the post office, painting various mail boxes around the Los Angeles county area. Ralph also volunteered his time to work on various fan productions of "Star Trek", based on the original 1966 edition of the classic sci-fi television series.
