Current Pride Fighting welterweight champion and 2005 Welterweight Grand Prix Champion.
His MMA debut came in 1997 winning the Brazil Open Weight Tourament. Also won the UFC 17 middleweight 4 man tournament champion.

Trains with Randy Couture with Team Quest.
Wrestling at Arizona State University participating in the 1993 NCAA championship.
