In 2021, after the first Covid lockdown, Philip accompanied his 10 year old son Romeo as they both walked an epic journey of 3000km from Palermo Sicily to London UK, to be with their housebound grandmother in England.
In 2017, whilst working as a video journalist, Philip was kidnapped in the desert of Darfur before being held for some months in black sites and political prisons in Khartum, Sudan.
