The WWE women’s division has undergone a remarkable transformation, completely redefining how female wrestlers are perceived within the company and the broader wrestling world. Not too long ago, women in wrestling were often portrayed through sensational storylines and overly s*xualized characters, overshadowing their athletic abilities.
However, in the modern era, WWE has successfully reshaped this image, showcasing a roster of powerful, skilled, and intense in-ring performers. These trailblazing athletes have earned the respect of fans worldwide and carved out a meaningful, lasting place in the heart of the wrestling community.

Cm Punk and Triple H have given fans one of the most compelling rivalries in WWE history. Over the years, they’ve clashed in numerous feuds and unforgettable matches, but perhaps their most interesting and unexpected showdown took place in 2011, not inside the squared circle, not even inside the WWE arena, but at a comic con.
During a fan interactive WWE session, Triple H was present alongside other WWE superstars when, out of nowhere, Punk made an appearance. What followed was pure entertainment as the two engaged in a fiery exchange, taunting each other. In a dramatic twist, Triple H went as far as exposing Punk’s rumored secret affair with Beth Phoenix.

In the early half of the 2000s, Royal Rumbles used to be a gravy of different proportions altogether. Whether it was about a comical stance or the hard-hitting wrestling flair, things were entirely different. It used to be a power-packed show of entertainment, humour, bloodied rivalries, and some crazy maneuvers defining the true essence of the bouts.
Now, if the Royal Rumbles weren’t entertaining enough, the storylines that would precede and succeed the Ple were equally intriguing. However, in the world of kayfabe, where human bodies are involved and they are dictated by storylines with the force of gravity playing judge, jury and the executioner for the special match, things could often go off the rails, and you simply have to make do with it.

When Logan Paul began his WWE career, few believed he would develop legitimate in-ring skills or adapt so quickly to the demands of professional wrestling. Amy Christine Dumas has been one of the most popular and controversial wrestlers in the WWE, who played the character of Lita. She was among those female wrestlers who were the epitome of success in the women’s wrestling department.
Lita was successful in every storyline that she was involved in, but her reputation suffered greatly because of these storylines. However, it was all controversial because it wasn’t just the storylines; most of these relationships were actual turbulence in her life. Unfortunately, any of her relationships with WWE wrestlers did not last.

Not Everyone in WWE Was Happy With The Undertaker Dating Michelle McCool Which Led to Her Retirement
Back in the early 2000s, the women’s division of WWE wasn’t as popular as it is nowadays. The women of WWE had to toil a lot harder and the storylines somehow were a lot more subdued. Michelle McCool played a significant role back then in shaping up a seamless transition for the Divas section.
McCool started with a story arc of a teacher and then shortly, she became a prominent in-ring figure. She fought out incredible rivalries with the likes of Melina, Mickie James, Eve Torres, Beth Phoenix, and most importantly, with her favourite teammate at one point in time, Layla.

WWE 2K23 features quite a few improvements to the franchise formula that will certainly be welcomed by wrestling game fans everywhere. Of course, some things never change, which means that WWE 2K23 still makes you unlock quite a few wrestlers via gameplay accomplishments and by spending both real and virtual currency.
The very good news is that WWE 2K23 makes the various unlock processes fairly painless. The problem is that the game doesn’t always do a great job of telling you exactly how to unlock those wrestlers or the best way to go about acquiring all of them. Hopefully, we can help ease that part of the unlock system just a bit.

Only two wrestlers can win the Royal Rumble matches, but WWE can still book certain stars to look strong. Brock Lesnar, Asuka, Liv Morgan, and Gunther are all examples of this. None of them won their respective Rumble match but still picked up momentum during the first stop on the road to WrestleMania 39. Everyone can't look good all the time—that's the nature of professional wrestling—but a handful of WWE stars lost a bit of their shine at the Royal Rumble. No one took a hit they can't recover from, but there were certainly some interesting developments that fans should keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
Not everything that occurred at the Royal Rumble was to set up matches at WrestleMania 39. Elimination Chamber is on February 18, meaning that WWE has three episodes of Raw and SmackDown to flesh out that card. Even with that in mind, several...

The Royal Rumble is just a day away now, and fans may be wondering who WWE has confirmed will be in the match for both the men and the women. There haven't been a bunch of qualification bouts as in some years gone by, so it's been a bit tougher than usual to keep track of everyone who has raised their hand and said, "count me in." Still, 16 men and seven women have been announced as participants in the Royal Rumble. WWE could add more during the go-home SmackDown show—those names, if any, will be added to this list after the fact—but as it stands right now, these are the wrestlers WWE fans can expect to enter the over-the-top-rope battle royal on January 28.

Charlotte Flair has built up a Hall of Fame-worthy career without ever really enjoying a solid babyface run in WWE. While other members of the four horsewomen—along with Alexa Bliss, Ronda Rousey, Asuka, and even Emma—have been able to try out characters on both sides of the spectrum, The Queen has typically been locked into her villainous role. She's a perfect heel, one of the best of the modern era, mixing a smug silver spoon persona with outstanding in-ring skills. Charlotte Flair has been a World Champion 14 times in WWE, and her current run is her first as a true, borderline happy-to-be-here babyface.
This is a profound change for Flair, and she recently spoke to Joseph Staszewski of The New York Post about what it felt like to be cheered upon her return on December 30. "I was so touched, like it really, really changed the direction that I...

The Royal Rumble is set to take place this weekend, which means that WWE is about to enter WrestleMania season. While the product was feeling pretty stale at this point a year ago, the same can't be said in 2023. Triple H has breathed new life into the company's creative direction, building up secondary titles and new stars since taking over in July. This year is the first time The Game has been responsible for a build toward the Showcase of the Immortals. Fans can safely assume he'll be breaking out all the stops needed to ensure that this year's Royal Rumble is the best in recent memory.
For an idea of just how confident WWE is in this card, consider this: instead of letting Cody Rhodes' long-awaited return be a surprise, he announced his entry during a vignette last week. Based on reports, this was done because there are so...

Edge hasn't been seen on WWE television since losing to Finn Balor in an I Quit match at Extreme Rules on October 8. Since then, the group he created following WrestleMania 38, Judgment Day, has been running roughshod over Raw's roster. The group got the better of Rey Mysterio and is currently engaged in a feud with The Oc. Fans might wonder what's going on with Edge, given that he signed a three-year deal before his return at the Royal Rumble in 2020. The 2023 edition of that premium live event is right around the corner, meaning that the Rated R Superstar's contract might be wrapping up soon.

Over the last few months, Rhea Ripley has evolved into one of the top stars of WWE's incredible women's division. She hasn't been involved in a solo feud—at least up until Mia Yim's debut last week. Instead, she's been generating a ton of boos for Judgment Day while working as their heater. Her on-screen relationship with Dominik Mysterio feels a bit flat, but in general, her involvement with the heel stable has been incredibly beneficial for her main roster career. Last week, Ripley had a backstage run-in with Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair, which planted the seeds for a match between those two in the future.
Speaking to usanetwork.com recently, the 26-year-old named who she'd like to work with at WrestleMania 39. "I think it would have to be myself and Bianca Belair for the Raw Women's Championship. Whenever we step in the ring together, it's magic.

Mia Yim returned to WWE on November 7, joining The Oc in their heated feud against Judgement Day. For months, dating back to their rivalry with the Mysterios, Judgement Day has been winning matches via interference from Rhea Ripley. Beth Phoenix tried to be the equalizer for Edge when he was fighting Balor in an I Quit match at Extreme Rules, but not even the Hall Of Famer was enough to turn the tides. The reinforcement has been a long time coming for Aj Styles as he builds up forces to take on the Finn Balor-led stable on Monday Night Raw.
Enter Yim, who has enough of an edge to be a real equalizer against Ripley. Since Judgement Day formed, Ripley has been utilized as a Chyna-esque heater. She is a woman who is capable of beating up half of the guys on the roster due to her size and strength.

In a case of serious New Years Revolution deja-vu, WWE is back with a brand new New Years PPV. Wait? What was that? They are calling PPVs ‘Premium Live Events’ now, erm, ok then. That makes it sound like some sort of rich person’s stage show but whatever. All I ask is that if you are calling something “premium” WWE, please let us not have a repeat of the wonky kind of quality we had in 2021 eh? Ta very much. Anyway, here is what went down at WWE’s first event of 2022 bang on New Year’s Day!
On the kick-off, Breaking news addressed, news that Universal Champion Roman Reigns has tested positive for Covid-19 and will not be facing Brock Lesnar on the show. Instead, Lesnar is being added to the monster WWE Title match making it a Fatal-5-Way main event. That is gonna be good!

Yokozuna was a legendary WWF (WWE these days) heel, the professional-wrestling term for a bad guy — but Agatupu Rodney Anoaʻi was a legendary good dude.
As the first WWE Superstar profiled on the new biographical docuseries “WWE Icons,” Yokozuna’s episode will follow Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event on streaming service WWE Network. Pretty good lead-in.
Don’t want to wait until Sunday? Iffy on the SVOD service’s $9.99-per-month price? TheWrap has your first look at WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi talking about his personal memories of Yoko, free of charge.
In our exclusive clip, Rikishi (real name Solofa F. Fatu Jr.) recalls a time in Yoko’s heyday when Rodney Anoa’i was making far more money than he was as a member of The Headshrinkers. While Fatu Jr. could afford a house, he couldn’t swing the money to replace its faulty heating system — but Yoko...

Match #1: Shayna Baszler def. Bayley (Disqualification) The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Shayna Baszler was focused on making a case for a SmackDown Women’s Title opportunity, but Nia Jax helped her enter another championship picture. Following a backstage encounter, Jax entered after Baszler and watched from the WWE ThunderDome. A big knee strike from The Queen of Spades shook up Bayley and had her teammate Sasha Banks uneasy on the outside. Unable to help herself, Jax entered the fray and got brutal payback for Baszler’s backstage taunts with a huge right hand. “The Golden Role Models” found perhaps their first moment of joy since a turbulent SummerSlam as they watched.

The new episode of WWE’s 24 series follows “The Rated-r Superstar” Edge and his return to WWE this January. This, I have to say, is the best episode WWE has ever done of this show, and if you watch any WWE Network Original show right now, make it this one.
The episode doesn’t merely follow Edge’s return, but talks about his life over the years since he retired back in 2012. It’s been a long and winding road for the former multi-time WWE Champion and Hall of Famer, and we hear stories all about it here, from Edge himself, and those closest to him, such as his wife Beth Phoenix and close lifelong friend Christian. Hearing tales of the difficulties he had with his forced retirement due to injury and the things he’s been through, such as the awful loss of his mother, is hard to watch but very relevant.

You’ve heard the tagline by now. WrestleMania 36 is “too big for just one night.” Well, with 16 matches on the card, the show likely would have stretched to five or six hours if it was going ahead as planned in Tampa, in front of about 70,000 people. Instead, these matches have been pre-taped in an empty WWE Performance Center, and WWE is, wisely, choosing to break up the show over Saturday and Sunday night so they don’t completely burn out fans. Here’s our preview of what to expect, and picks for WrestleMania 36.
1. Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair for the Nxt Women’s Championship
This match is interesting because I could see it going either way. There’s an argument to be made for Flair winning, which would put her on Nxt as WWE wages war against Aew on Wednesday nights. But this could also be a star-making moment for Ripley,...

Netflix steps into the squared circle next month with the new WWE Films movie The Main Event, and the official trailer has been made available online by the popular streaming service. From director Jay Karas and screenwriters Larry Postel, Zach Lewis, Jim Mahoney, and Peter Hoare, the family-friendly movie stars Seth Carr, Tichina Arnold, Adam Pally, and Ken Marino. Of course, multiple WWE Superstars will be featured in the movie as well, including former WWE Champions Kofi Kingston, The Miz, and Sheamus the Celtic Warrior. Richard Lowell produces with Susan Levison and Maggie Malina executive producing.
The Main Event feels a bit like the Jim Carrey classic The Mask with a modern pro wrestling spin on the story. Its plot follows 11-year-old aspiring wrestler Leo Thompson (Carr), who finds a "magical wrestling mask that grants him super strength," which he then uses to enter himself into a WWE competition. The Main Event may be a family film set to arrive on Netflix, but its content might make you think it’s something streaming on the WWE Network, since the wrestling-themed family film is packed with the wrestling company’s stars.
Indeed, what we have here is a fantastical wish-fulfillment offering in which an 11-year-old, played by Seth Carr finds a magical luchador mask that enhanced abilities that he uses for a crucial competition to become a WWE superstar.
Jay Karas directed the film, bringing television experience notably from tenures on sitcoms such as Superstore, Splitting Up Together, Teachers and Workaholics. He worked here off a screenplay credited to Peter Hoare, Zach Lewis, Larry Postel and Jim Mahoney.

One of my favourite things to read, and I’m a big reader, is a good wrestling book. There are a whole bunch of autobiographies out there from a load of wrestlers, and the world of bodyslams and Monday night warfare is not short of a million crazy stories, so these books tend to be jam-packed with entertaining anecdotes, life stories, road-tales and a variety of things to keep fans (and perhaps some non-fans) hooked from page-one. I thought it might be fun to assemble a top ten list of what I feel are the ten best wrestler autobiographies out there right now. We’re fast approaching the release of Jim Ross’ second book, Under the Black Hat, which will be released at the end of March, so what better time to talk about wrestling books, that right now? Let’s go!

Since he entered semi-retirement, the Undertaker’s two or three matches per year don’t require much storyline. The Deadman returns, wrestles his match, and then goes back to his home in Texas until the next Saudi show or WrestleMania comes around. That’s changing with this year’s WrestleMania 36 Undertaker match, though.
Aj Styles cut a bizarre promo on last night’s Raw, outing former WWE women’s wrestler Michelle McCool as Undertaker’s wife. McCool married Undertaker, a.k.a. Mark Calaway, back in 2010. But that hasn’t been acknowledged on WWE television until now.
Historically, Calaway has kept the Undertaker character very close to the vest. There are stories about how he would rarely even interact with fans at an airport when he was the “deadman” character, but was more than willing to interact with fans when he utilized the biker gimmick in the early-2000’s.

WrestleMania Fever took over New York and New Jersey this weekend, bringing big crowds of WWE fans to both the Big Apple and the Garden State.
While the celebrations kicked off a few days ago, the real deal was Sunday night, when the Super Bowl of professional wrestling returned to the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The open-air arena is normally home to the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets.

Welcome to this week’s Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this is the final Raw before Wrestlemania, so let’s see if Vince got it right or not.
Match #1: WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection, Beth Phoenix & Natalya def. Nia Jax, Tamina & The IIconics The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Is Beth Phoenix’s return from retirement just a nostalgia trip? WWE Universe, it is not. The Glamazon was a house on fire in an Eight-Woman Tag Team Match six days before WrestleMania’s cross-generational Fatal 4-Way for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, and she was a problem for champions and challengers alike in what ended up being her first Raw victory in nearly seven years. Not only did Phoenix go head-on with reigning champions Sasha Banks & Bayley on multiple occasions, she pie-faced Banks off...

Welcome to this week’s Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Kurt Angle’s big Wrestlemania announcement, Batista complaining about Triple H and Brock Lesnar gearing up for his big title match with Seth Rollins.
Match #1: Finn Bálor & Braun Strowman def. Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley & Lio Rush The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
If Finn Bálor is serious about keeping his championship drought a short one, he certainly got off on the right foot. The Irishman selected Braun Strowman as his mystery partner against Lio Rush & Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley, and his selection paid off in a major way. The Monster Among Men has been in a little bit of a mood thanks to Colin Jost and Michael Che, and he was so dominant that The All Mighty straight-up bailed on his hype man in the middle of the match. Lashley...

Daniel Bryan not only had to defend his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens, but a surprise challenger!
Well, WrestleMania is almost here! Unfortunately, before we can see what’s what that card is going to mostly look like, we have to drive through WWE Fastlane 2019. Fastlane started back in 2015 as the last major stop before WrestleMania with a main event tricking you into thinking that Roman Reigns might not main event WrestleMania 31. That was followed with a Fastlane main event that tricked you into thinking that Roman Reigns might not main event WrestleMania 32. The one that followed had Bill Goldberg beat Kevin Owens in a nonsense match meant to move the Universal Championship into a different feud. Then there was last year’s event which...man, I just looked at the results and it’s the most forgettable show in recent memory. Wow.

Three women. Two titles. Winner take all. We have the results of all 16 WrestleMania 35 matches!
With Royal Rumble left in the dust, Elimination Chamber hung up, and Fastlane behind us, that means that WrestleMania 35 is on the horizon! WWE’s biggest show has been a staple since the 80s and has given us plenty of fantastic moments. From the days of King Kong Bundy crushing Special Delivery Jones in mere seconds to Braun Strowman pulling a child out of the crowd to help him win the tag titles, WrestleMania has been the wrestling show with the brightest spotlight.
Then again, the Raw and SmackDown after it are way better. The Nxt TakeOver show the night before is pretty much superior too. The Hall of Fame ceremony...? Eh.
Here are the complete WrestleMania 35 results...
