Biography

Antara Biswas, popularly known as Monalisa, is an Indian actress who has worked in several Bhojpuri, Bengali, Odia, Kannada, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi movies.

After completing her education at Julian Day School in Kolkata, Monalisa continued her studies at Ashutosh College at the University of Calcutta, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Sanskrit.

Monalisa faced a lot of hardships before she joined the Bhojpuri film industry. Prior to working as an actor, Monalisa worked as a 'Guest Relations Executive' in several restaurants and hotels in Kolkata.

Monalisa began her career by appearing in many Oriya music videos. She has also been a part of the Oriya films Hamam Phi Amsterdam (1998) and Jai Sriram (2005). Monalisa started her film career in Hindi films with a small role of a girl named 'Aarti' in the Hindi film ...Jayate (1997). She then appeared in the song Daman (2001).

She then moved on to Bhojpuri films, where she gained popularity due to her work in Adhikar (2004). Her role in Tauba Tauba (2004) helped her gain recognition in South Indian films.

Monalisa has appeared in over 200 Hindi, Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, and Kannada films. She has collaborated with popular Bhojpuri stars Vikrant Singh Rajput, Pawan Singh, Dinesh Lal Yadav, Khesari Lal Yadav, Manoj Tiwari, and others.

She even acted in a few more low-budget Hindi films like Blackmail (2005), starring Ajay Devgn and Suniel Shetty. However, she failed to draw recognition from it. She has also acted in Jackpot (2006), a Kannada film. In 2011, Monalisa's film Aakhiri Rasta (2011) gained popularity, and she was recognised for her work.

In 2016, she appeared on Bigg Boss (2006), where she married her long-time boyfriend, Vikrant Singh Rajput, on January 18 2017, on the show. The couple also appeared on the famous couple's dance show Nach Baliye (2005), season 8 in 2017.

Monalisa is also know for her role in a popular television series called Nazar (2018)
