Bonnie Lee Bouman is one of South Africa's Top Performance Casting
Directors. After graduating from Vancouver Film School (Acting for Film
and Television) , she returned home to start her own company in 2003
and is renowned for her imaginative and performance driven casting
direction in all visual mediums. (TV Series, TV Commercials and Feature
Films)
Her vast knowledge of the nuances of the Film and TV allow her to guide the casting process like no other Casting Director in SA. Her bold and direct attitude have taken her from Townships to Kingdoms (literally) in pursuing the right talent for a film, TV series or TV commercial and in doing that, it surely allows her clients to enjoy the full flavor of South Africa's talent.
She is NOT an agent by any means - she is an independent Casting Director who believes in showcasing as much of SA talent as possible to provide ALL clients with a full scope of what SA talent really has to offer. - "We cannot by any means tolerate nepotism in our very small industry here in South Africa"...She casts in all major cities in South Africa and language is no barrier - She has extensive knowledge in accents and ethnicities which keeps her vigilant to authenticity.
She was Nominated in the 2007 for the Shoprite Checkers Woman of the Year Award and has proudly served twice as an International Emmy Juror. She was a judge and the acting coach on "Class Act" a reality TV show searching for "SA's Leading Man" and as of current has over 600 projects under her belt (From Local and International Commercials to International TV Series and Feature Films).
She is a proud member of C.S.A (Casting Society of America) and therefore is advised that she is the only member on the Africa continent to hold this accolade. She also is a SAGA member. Bonnie does not represent talent, She is a Casting Director of the highest regard and integrity.
