Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 10 Review: 210 Words Per Minute
Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 10 proves there’s a downside to playing things safe—even in the zombie apocalypse.

This Fear the Walking Dead review contains spoilers.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 10

Intentionally or not, “210 Words Per Minute” raises a very interesting question about mortality. In the zombie apocalypse, does a terminal illness carry the same weight it once did if death is always just around the corner? Unfortunately, Fear the Walking Dead doesn’t do much with this intriguing premise, not that it’s honor-bound to do so. I just wish these sorts of thought experiments held more intrigue for the show’s writers. Sure, devising more novel ways to kill walkers is entertaining enough—this is a zombie show, after all. But our main cast is so expert at dispatching the undead that the danger never generates enough suspense to truly keep viewers...

Quick Clicks: ‘Workshop’ on Hulu, ‘ElfQuest’, ‘White Collar Brawler’, ‘We Break Hearts’
Online video and web series news worth clicking today… Workshop the series debuts Season 2 today on Hulu after inking a distribution deal with the network earlier this spring. Creator Nate Golon is calling it the first half-hour web comedy to premiere on the site, and looking back over our records, he may be right. “As an added bonus, we’ve also posted episode 2, since people were patient enough to wait an extra week,” said Golon on the launch. That means you’ll need to earmark about 44 minutes for this comedic look inside the world of struggling La actors. 20 minutes in, we’d have to say it’s worth it. Six episodes total are due out this season, adding up to a whopping 132 minutes of comedy. [Workshop on Hulu] ElfQuest came to life last night with the SAG screening and release of the “fan imagined” trailer for a would-be series based on the popular comic book series.

‘A Good Knight’s Quest’ – Exclusive New Trailer, Mystery Guest Star Revealed
After their pilot episode snagged the Grand Prize at the 2009 Escapist Film Festival, creator Brett Register and his producing team of Rick Rey and Paula Rhodes knew they were on to something. At that point the show was called Dorian's Quest, but after a name change to A Good Knight's Quest, the team set out to shoot a 24-episode gamer comedy web series that would run on The Escapist Magazine's site in weekly installments. "I'm a huge fan of the Escapist, I have been for years, ever since I was in college," said Register. "I always wanted to do an 80's style show, like my own Masters of the Universe web series—the bad movie not the cartoon TV show." To launch the series, the team hosted a well-attended La premiere at the Capitol City Hollywood on Monday night. When a video game princess crosses over into the real world,...

Staunton Hill (2009) Movie Review
As his father continues to attempt to rejuvenate his seemingly never-ending “Dead” series, Cameron Romero follows up his debut “The Screening” with another slice of familiar horror in “Staunton Hill”. Although this may sound a little cynical, the film really is pretty basic stuff, being a by the numbers “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” knock off, with youngsters being chased and killed by psychotic rednecks in the rural backwoods. Still, Romero shows himself to be a better director than most, and the film benefits from a decent cast of half recognisable faces, if not names, including Cristen Coppen (“Road Trip”), David Rountree (“XXX2”, and who also scripted), Kiko Ellsworth (from the television series “Heroes” and “Dexter”) and Charlie Bodin (briefly in “Transformer”). The plot is familiar to say the least, set in Virginia in the autumn of 1969 and following five student types who are hitchhiking their way across country to the political rallies taking place in Washington.

Staunton Hill (DVD Review)
Have you seen The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Either the 1974 Tobe Hooper original or the 2003 remake? Then you’ve seen Anchor Bay’s new-to-dvd Staunton Hill. Except it’s nowhere near as good as the trailblazing former or surprising, way-better-than-expected remake. In fact, while watching this flick, I said to myself, “Hey, that crazy, corpulent redneck woman reminds me of that crazy, corpulent redneck woman from the Texas Chainsaw remake and its prequel.” And—surprise! surprise!—when I checked out the actors’ names and credits, I discovered that the crazy, corpulent redneck woman in Staunton Hill actually is the same crazy, corpulent redneck woman from the Texas Chainsaw remake and its prequel: Kathy Lamkin.

That’s not the only familiar and imitative element of Staunton Hill, the second film from director Cameron Romero (Guess who his daddy is? Hint: It’s not James Cameron). The movie takes place in Virginia, 1969, as...

G. Cameron Romero’s Staunton Hill coming to DVD
Anchor Bay Entertainment gave Fango the official word that it’s releasing Staunton Hill to DVD next month (see the cover art below). The movie, which streets October 6, was directed by G. Cameron Romero, son of zombie master George A. Romero.

Scripted by David Rountree (who also co-stars), Staunton Hill is set at the titular locale in the middle of a remote mountain area. A group of hikers arrive for a weekend jaunt and wind up on the Staunton family property—and needless to say, this twisted bunch doesn’t take kindly to trespassers, setting out to stalk and kill them. The junior Romero’s second fright feature after the as-yet unreleased The Screening, Staunton Hill also toplines Kathy Lamkin (Tea Lady from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and its prequel), Cristen Coppen, Kiko Ellsworth, Christine Carlo, Paula Rhodes, Charlie Bodin, B.J. Hendricks and The Funhouse’s Cooper Huckabee; the...
