Andrea's father was a Staff Photographer at National Geographic in the 1950s under then editor Melville Bell Grosvenor, who was the son of the founding editor, and grandson of Alexander Graham Bell.

Andrea's grandfather, 2 great uncles, and great aunt were a touring Vaudeville act known as "The Davis Children". Her great aunt Madeleine Davis was considered the "Shirley Temple of her day" according to author Nell Brown Propst in "Those Strenuous Dames of the Colorado Prairie".
