'The Odyssey' BTS Images Reveal Matt Damon, Tom Holland & More in Christopher Nolan’s Epic
Image
Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming swords-and-sandals fantasy epic The Odyssey boasts one of the most all-star casts of all time, and we now have a new look at two of the lead actors: Matt Damon and Tom Holland. Pictured in character on set, Damon sports a great, big, bushy beard and looks fighting fit as he films a scene in Favignana in southern Italy.

Damon, who will lead The Odyssey as Odysseus, the legendary Greek king of Ithaca, was seen filming alongside Euphoria and Spider-Man: No Way Home star Zendaya (via People), who is rumored to be playing the goddess Athena in Nolan’s highly anticipated adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic poem.

The Odyssey marks Nolan’s first foray into full-on fantasy, with the movie retelling the story of Odysseus’ ten-year journey home following the Trojan War, which sees the warrior king facing a cyclops, Sirens, a witch goddess,...

Who Plays Who in Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' Reportedly Revealed
Image
Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is easily one of the most anticipated films of 2026, and just like with all the Academy Award-winning director's films, he has assembled an all-star cast, and now some key roles might be revealed. Nolan's follow-up to Oppenheimer, the Academy Award winner for Best Picture in 2023 and a film that grossed $975 million worldwide, is none other than The Odyssey.

The Odyssey, along with The Illiad, is one of the two great epic poems written by Homer and one of the world's most iconic pieces of literature. Christopher Nolan has now set out to give the epic tale a definitive film version like no other.

Discussing Film is reporting that Greek media outlets are reporting some of the roles of the actors in The Odyssey. Matt Damon is, of course, playing Odysseus, and Anne Hathaway will reportedly play Odysseus' wife, Penelope. Tom Holland is Odysseus and Penelope's adult son,...

'My Movie Dad': Timothee Chalamet & Matthew McConaughey Reunite 10 Years After Interstellar
Image
Actor Timothée Chalamet is probably best known for his recent roles in Denis Villenueve’s Dune movie franchise, and as Willy Wonka in 2023’s Wonka, but 10 years ago he played the son of Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. Chalamet was a guest picker on ESPN’s College GameDay show during which he predicted a win for McConaughey’s favorite team, the Texas Longhorns.

After the show, Chalamet posted on his Instagram a photo of himself and McConaughey with the caption: “My movie dad Cooper” with a teary-eyed emoji. Although the Longhorns ended up losing to the Georgia Bulldogs in the game, Chalamet’s Instagram followers were more interested in the reunion between the two actors who worked together in 2014 than in the game itself. More than 3,200 people commented on his post, which also has more than 740,000 likes. The official Interstellar movie Instagram account commented on Chalamet’s post saying,...

Indiana Jones 5's Franchise-Low $383M Box Office Gets Candid Reflection From Director 1 Year Later: "How Would Anything Have Made The Audience Happy"
Image
After having brought the iconic franchise to an end, James Mangold is looking back on Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny's underwhelming reception. The 2023 movie saw Harrison Ford return as the titular adventurer who, after his goddaughter gets wrapped up in the quest for the eponymous device, must race against time to find it before a former Nazi scientist and his mercenaries do. Co-written and directed by Mangold, the first to direct an installment in the franchise aside from Steven Spielberg, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was met with mixed-to-positive reviews and was a box office failure.

During a recent interview with Deadline for his upcoming Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, Mangold was asked about the lackluster reaction to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The co-writer/director recalled how its development came when the Dylan biopic was on hold amid Covid and Chalamet's Dune schedule,...

“I think times have changed now”: Hugh Jackman Was Very Close to Breaking Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool Record Before Fox Ensured it Never Happened
Image
Before Ryan Reynolds sliced his way into box office lore with Deadpool’s razor-sharp wit, another beloved actor was only a claw’s length away from making R-rated comic book history. Yes, Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold intended to immortalize The Wolverine as the first mature audience-oriented spectacle in the X-Men universe.

Consider this: it is 2013, and the cinematic world is enthralled by PG-13, effects-laden marvels like The Avengers, whose paint is still drying on its vibrant canvas.

Even though Fox steered the ship towards safer waters, could anyone have predicted how Mangold’s unrealized vision would paradoxically give The Wolverine a cutting edge that allowed it to cut through the din of its competitors?

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

The director, as revealed in a candid chat with Den of Geek, teased us with thoughts on the changing studio setting that ultimately unfurled the red carpet for Logan to...

The Wolverine Almost Brought Back an X-Men Origins Character, Reveals Franchise Star
Image
The Wolverine is a standalone sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Hugh Jackman's title character serving as the main connective tissue between the two movies. However, X-Men Origins star Kevin Durand recently revealed that he was initially supposed to return for The Wolverine as The Blob before those plans were scrapped.

Speaking with ComicBook.com to promote the horror movie, Abigail, Durand briefly touched on his time in the X-Men franchise, explaining that it was Jackman specifically who wanted him back for the 2013 sequel. "I remember when we were doing the scenes in the ring in Wolverine, Hugh just kept saying 'You're going to end up with your own movie,'" the actor recalled. "And he really wanted me to come back and do the next Wolverine and The Blob was going to be the sumo wrestling champion in Japan when he goes to Tokyo, but it never panned out.

Cannes 2023: Films We’re Excited to See at This Year’s Festival
Image
Every year, the Cannes Film Festival, known as the International Film Festival until 2003, hosts a variety of new film premieres. The festival, held in France, presents new previews of all genres and a plethora of documentaries to draw inspiration from the actual world. The 76th Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 16 to May 27, 2023, with Ruben Ostlund, a Swedish filmmaker, serving as the jury president.

While there have been many anticipated films for this year's festival, among them are Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese's first film to be shown at the festival since 1986, and Jeanne du Barry, which will hopefully bring the revival of one of Hollywood's most versatile actors, Johnny Depp. Having said that, here are some of the films we're excited to see premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

If you've ever wondered whether the elements have emotions, you're not alone. The upcoming Pixar film Elemental,...

Every Live-Action Movie Featuring Wolverine, Ranked
Image
In the wake of Tim Burton's "Batman" movies, Alan Moore's "Watchmen" and "Swamp Thing" run, and the subsequent rise of grim, violent characters like the Punisher and Spawn, X-Men stalwart Wolverine became one of the most popular characters around. With his metal retractable claws, ever-present cigar, and berserker rage mode, he seemed more suited to the moment than some of his more goody-goody mutant hero cohorts. It's safe to say that in the '90s, he was probably the most beloved comics character not to have a movie yet. In part, Hollywood was torn: should they make a Wolverine solo film first, or go full-on X-Men? The majority of superhero movies up to that point featured singular heroes in worlds where no others existed. A team film, then, might stretch credulity with audiences used to suspending disbelief only as far as one.

Well, "X-Men" came out in 2000, and...
