Dwayne DC Coles New Jersey born Award Winning Music Video/Film/TV Director, Producer, Writer started his studies as an aspiring actor- having attended the legendary Inner City Ensemble an Intensive Theatre/Dance performance program then located in Paterson NJ. at the age of 13years old where he studied extensively acting; he dreamed of one day becoming a respected actor; following his dream he later attended William Paterson University as a Theatre/Psychology Major during which he discovered his love for directing/producing/writing - was able to convince the Theatre program department to break its tradition and allowing a freshman theatre major to direct plays - which he did a few each year. during the summers he would travel to New York to train at the famed HB studios (acting program) while landing bit roles in indie films; frustrated with the roles he was offered he decided to create his own roles, by learning "how to"- enrolling at The Center for the Media Arts completing the program in TV/Video production as well as taking random courses elsewhere for film directing/producing/writing. Cast to play a role in a music video in the earlier years of music video world- he caught the bug - taking his loves for cinema, storytelling, photography and music this seemed like a perfect fit; he embarked on the music video world- during the 90s he was one of the Pioneers of the music video genre and soon became one of the most sought after music video directors/producers on the scene. Having work on over 100+ music videos- eventually being represented by one of the leading Director's Reps and signed to a leading production company as well in the field; Eventually he decided to form his own production company; being fortunate enough to direct the first 2 music videos for Destinys Child (Beyonce), JT Money feat. Sole "Who Dat", Blackstreet, Lady of Rage, Capleton, Shabba Ranks, Spragga Benz, Naughty By Nature, Snoop Dog, Silk The Shocker, Jay Z, Blush (Mathew Knowles recent female trio group) , Mystikal, Vivian Seasons,, Shaliek, Do or Die and Many Other Major recording artists- being Nominated as Best Music Video Director of the Year and the following year having a music video Nominated as Best Hip Hop Music Video of the year- he's experienced working on budgets from the earlier years before music video shows hit major cable outlets when budgets were at best $1k eventually having worked on budgets as much as $400k. DC also served as Head Of Film/Video Production at multi platinum Hall Of Fame music producer/artist Teddy Riley record label Lil Man/Interscope Records; recently tapped to Direct/Produce music videos for Mathew Knowles label Music World Ent. Presently "DC" serves as Creative Consultant/Adviser to indie Brazilian pop artist Gabby B. in which he also Directs/Produced videos for the record label which he's also part of building.. As the music business began its decline he switched his focus toward writing, directing, producing for indie films (see credits) fast forward to present time he continues to build his career in Film/TV/Music Video; with the focus on building a major multi media empire. Currently "DC" has Produced a recent indie film "Better than my last" and has Directed/Produced the sizzle trailer for the sequel to the Feature film "JuwannaMan 2". which is in development.
