Biography

Jess Kelly is a multi award-winning journalist and filmmaker based in London. In 2023 she was awarded the Sony Impact award by the Rory Peck Trust which honors the work of freelance journalists. Her 2022 film 'Under Poisoned Skies' has won seven awards including an RTS award, an FPA award, an AIB award, a DIG award, and a British Journalism award. 'Under Poisoned Skies' provided the legal basis for the first ever lawsuit against the oil giant BP brought by an individual over the company's toxic flaring practices in Iraq. In 2021 Jess was nominated for a BAFTA in the 'Emerging Talent: Factual' category for her investigations, "The Schools That Chain Boys" and "Silicon Valley's Online Slave Market."
