Yogesh Vinayak Joshi is a Mumbai-born and based Indian screenwriter. Between 1993 and 1999, his creative beginnings were nurtured in suburban Mumbai's vivacious Marathi language experimental theatre scene. He wrote many one-act plays and actively participated in various theatre workshops held in the National Centre for Performing Arts, Dinanath Natya Gruha and other experimental theatres in Mumbai. In 2004, he was the co-writer of the highly acclaimed film Hava Aney Dey (Let the Wind Blow) by Partho Sen-Gupta, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and went on to screen and win awards at several prestigious international festivals. He then co-wrote Mumbai Meri Jaan (2008), which was nominated for the Asia-Pacific Screen Awards for Best Screenplay and won India's 2008 Filmfare Award and the 2008 CineBlitz Award for Best Screenplay. He then wrote the screenplays of Tendulkar Out (2013), Varkatunda Mahakay (2013) and collaborated again with Partho Sen-Gupta, writing the dialogues for Sunrise (2014) - which premiered at Busan and then at Tribeca, BFI London, Sydney, MIFF, APSA etc. He then wrote screenplays for feature films like Photocopy (2016), Gachi (2017), 15 August (2019), Habaddi (2022) and Three-legged Horse (2022) and TV series.
