Biography

Supratik is an Indian screenwriter who has been a part of projects like Fitoor, Kai Po Che! and Kaminey. Along with writing the screenplay for Kaminey, he was also the associate director on the project. For his work on Kai Po Che!, an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's 'The 3 Mistakes of My Life', he won numerous awards like the Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay and the Zee Cine Award for Best Story. He was also the co-writer on Leena Yadav's widely acclaimed film, Parched, for which they were nominated for the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. He recently co-wrote a unique love story titled Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui starring Aayushman Khurana and Vaani Kapoor, which is about a bodybuilder from Chandigarh who falls in love with a trans woman. The film is currently streaming on Netflix and was well received by the audiences. The film won the Filmfare award for 'Best Original Story', and the Screenwriters Association Award for 'Best Story'. His latest feature, Sharmaji Namkeen, starring the late Rishi Kapoor is now streaming on Amazon Prime, and was co-written with director Hitesh Bhatia and produced by Excel Entertainment. Supratik is currently independently developing an original series and also collaborating with Abhishek Kapoor on his next feature film.
