Quite a few people, nationwide, remember him negatively, because it was
his race-car that hit Dale Earnhardt's
and ended Earnhardt's life, during the final lap of
2001's Daytona 500. The Waltrip brothers were in the act, but in different ways. Darrell Waltrip
was a Fox Sports Daytona 500 commentator, while
Michael Waltrip was the winner, just
after Earnhardt's life ended.
