Wayne 'Whistler' Higgins

Wayne "Whistler" Higgins is a native of the Southwest. He attended high school in Artesia, New Mexico. A talented musician with no formal training in music, he has a natural "ear" which permits him to immediately reproduce or play along with any new music he hears. He is fluent on guitar, but to his dismay he simply cannot sing. Years ago, he began whistling tunes to the accompaniment of his guitar. More recently, "Whistler" (as he is known to nearly everyone) has taken up violin and viola. Because of his large frame, his natural ability to play by ear have found its expression mainly on viola.

Whistler Higgins is living in the Hondo, Texas area. He has written two screenplays and is actively seeking funding to film a fictitious western based on historical fact.

Wayne has been featured on York Air Conditioning TV commercials. The song featured on York Air Conditioning in 2004 was an original piece Wayne composed titled "Whistler's Strut".

Wayne has been a cowboy reinactor in the Texas area for years. Wayne Higgins won an International Championship "Whistling" contest in Louisburg North Carolina in 2003.
