Known for his innovative work on iconic TV shows such as America's Next Top Model (ANTM), So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD), and the Food Network's Cupcake Wars, his contributions have been celebrated by CBS Television executives as instrumental in shaping the compelling storytelling featured in programming distributed across 50+ networks and media platforms worldwide.
Patterson's entertainment journey began at just 15, studying acting at The Australian Film and Television Academy on Queensland's Gold Coast. As a teenager, he appeared in popular TV shows like Paradise Beach, Flipper, and the feature film Powder Burn. After graduating from St. Michael's College in 1997 with the Creative Arts Award, he transitioned from acting to behind-the-scenes production roles, driven by a passion for storytelling and creativity.
In 1999, Patterson became an associate casting director at Liz Mullinar Casting in Sydney, contributing to major film projects such as Moulin Rouge, The Matrix, and Kangaroo Jack. He also worked with the Seven Network on Home and Away. Following a six-month European sabbatical in 2001, he pursued a bachelor's degree in film and television at Bond University, where he further honed his creative skills while organizing events such as Mirage Big Boys Toys and Mirage Fashion Week for Marina Mirage's marketing team.
After graduating, Patterson produced and starred in Style Xpo, Australia's first televised supermodel search on Foxtel's Arena TV. He went on to produce Australian Fashion Weeks in Sydney and Melbourne with Spin Communications. His career continued to evolve as he collaborated with The Artist Group and Chic Media, working on Wild TV for the Seven Network, before transitioning to advertising with LOOK Production. There, he created campaigns for brands like CoverGirl, Sony, Nike, Nokia, and Levi's. Patterson also shared his expertise as an instructor at The Fashion Business Institute in Sydney.
Inspired by his American grandfather's legacy, Patterson moved to the United States in 2008, joining Walter Schupfer Management in New York City as a producer. After the 2008 economic downturn, he relocated to Los Angeles, freelancing with AND Production and Super Delicious on the Food Network's Cupcake Wars. In 2010, Patterson founded Creative Style Kingdom (CSK) and collaborated with CBS Television and Tyra Banks on ANTM. As the producer in charge of creative, he directed over 250 photo shoots, runway shows, music videos, motion editorials, and international finales across 82 episodes spanning Cycles 15 to 20.
Following his tenure at ANTM, Patterson contributed to So You Think You Can Dance as a producer and entertainment reporter for Fox Television and Reality Wanted. Expanding his global influence, he established a CSK hub in London, producing over 100 campaigns for international brands like Hugo Boss, L'Oréal, Rimmel, and Peek & Cloppenburg, featuring high-profile celebrities such as Beyoncé, Gwen Stefani, Ryan Reynolds, and Reese Witherspoon. He also collaborated with Make World Media on broadcast content for the BBC and served as a judge for Britain's Top Model of Colour. Additionally, he executive-produced Body Reboot for StarHub Network Asia in Singapore.
In 2015, Patterson returned to Los Angeles as Director of Production at DLM.US, producing award-season cover and video content for Variety Magazine's Actors on Actors series featuring Academy Award nominees. In 2017, he was appointed Executive in Charge of Programming at the WHAM Network, where he played a pivotal role in launching an E-Sports streaming channel, developing original TV formats from the ground up.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Patterson relocated to Miami and pursued a master's degree in journalism online at Harvard University.
