Matthew Korklan
Matthew Joseph Korklan is an American professional wrestler best known as Matt Sydal. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestling on its RAW brand, under the ring name Evan Bourne. In the late 1990's, Korklan combined martial arts and gymnastics and became a pro wrestler. He was on his high schools wrestling team. As a senior, he began wrestling for Gateway Championship Wrestling in St. Louis, Missouri. He debuted October 20, 2000. During his Independent circuit, he wrestled the likes on CM Punk and A.J. Styles. Korklan later wrestled for Total Nonstop Action. (TNA) He was, however, a jobber, never being to booked to win a match. On April 23, 2004, Korklan debuted in Ring of Honor. (ROH) He toured Japan with Dragon Gate in 2006. He was featured in Wrestling Society X (WSX) on its first episode, but lost his match. In October of 2007, Korklan signed a developmental contract with the WWE, in their territory, OVW. In February, 2008, WWE ceased affiliation with OVW. On June 3rd, 2008, Korklan debuted on the WWE, losing to Shelton Benjamin. The following week, he teamed up with Kofi Kingston against Benjamin and Mike Knox, and won. He also has now defeated Mike Knox, Nunzio, and former ECW Champion, Chavo Guerrero. Guerrero and Korklan, now recognized as Evan Bourne, are now feuding. On the August 6th edition of ECW, he and new ECW Superstar Ricky Ortiz defeated Guerrero and his bodyguard, Bam Neely. Evan Bourne got moved to WWE's RAW brand in 2010 when Donald Trump was in control where he had his debut match against Randy Orton in a Gauntlet match. He also qualified to be in Wrestlemania 26's Money In the Bank ladder match which he lost. In 2011-2012 he was running the tag team division (with partner Kofi Kingston)having won the WWE Tag Team Championship belts in 2011, losing it in 2012.
