Bram Schouw
Bram Schouw (The Hague, 1979) graduates with honors at the Utrecht School of the Arts. His graduation film MARRIAGE is the official opening film for Curta Cinema Rio de Janeiro 2005. His second short film IMPASSE had its world premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival 2008 as part of the feature film Stories On Human Rights, a collaboration with filmmakers such as Hany Abu-Assad, Marina Abramovic and Jasmila Zbanic. The project gets selected at renowned film festivals in New York, Berlin and Sarajevo. IMPASSE received a Special Mention at the International Amsterdam Film Festival and won the NFTVM Vers Award for young Dutch filmmakers.

After directing the TV film NINA SATANA, written by Urszula Antoniak, and episodes of highly acclaimed television series as OVERSPEL and VAN GOD LOS, Bram Schouw won a Golden Calf (Dutch Academy Award) at the Netherlands Film Festival with the short film SEVILLA. The film premieres in Clermont-Ferrand, gets selected at more than 100 international film festivals, winning multiple awards and is announced to be in Vimeo's 10 Best Of The Year 2014.

His first feature film Broers (Brothers) was critically highly acclaimed and premiered at Premiers Plan in Angers, France January 2018. The film about the unequal yet unconditional bond between two young brothers was awarded for Best New Director at Brooklyn International Film Festival in New York, the Silver Screen Award at the Hollywood Film Festival and was chosen as Best Film at International Film Festival Tonneins, France.

Childhood Dreams - an original series by Marnie Blok & Bram Schouw - had its world premiere at Canneseries 2023. The 9×50 minutes and widely praised family saga begins in the tumultuous 1960s, and follows the bittersweet journey of a family as they navigate through love, loss, and life over several generations. Childhood Dreams got nominated for a Dutch Academy Award, Prix Europe and Prix Italia 2023.

Bram lives in Marseille together with actress/director Paloma Aquilera Valdebenito and their son Roman Gabriel.
