    He was a folk music impresario who was influential in the Greenwich Village scene in the 1960s. In 1957, he opened the Folklore Center, where fans and folk musicians could find everything from old sheet music to obscure music books. He organized Bob Dylan's first major concert outside of Greenwich Village, a performance at Carnegie Chapter Hall, a small venue connected to Carnegie Hall. He also helped John Sebastian and Peter, Paul, and Mary, among others.
