- Sam's performing career started as a result of a lost bet. At the age of twelve, he and two other friends had to perform a song at the school cabaret night as a result of the loss. It just so happened, it went quite well.
- Sam is a dedicated poker player. In 2009 he finished third in the prestigious GUKPT London Main Event, having only learned to play poker six months prior. It was his first tournament. He has since had several cashes and high finishes in a range of tours and tournaments.
- In Summer Season 2021, Sam became the first male actor to play 'Juliet' on The Globe stage since it's opening in 1997, after being called in for two shows.
