- Defne Joy Foster was born on September 2, 1975 in Incirlik, Turkey. She was an actress, known for Hayal ve Gerçek (2007), Ruhsar (1998) and Sihirli Annem (2003). She was married to Yasin Solmaz. She died on February 2, 2011 in Istanbul, Turkey.

- Defne was found dead at her friend Kerem Altan's apartment in Istanbul on February 2, 2011. She was thought to have died from respiratory difficulty and a heart attack. In February 2015 journalist Halit Kerem Altan was sentenced to two months in prison for waiting over two hours after Foster fell unconscious before calling emergency services.
