Into the Black (2004)
Richard Meyer at sixteen decided what he wanted to be and that was to be a Renaissance Man. His concentrations have therefore been the following.

Numerous tours of university which granted a BA From Plattsburgh University in Plattsburgh, New York in Liberal Arts, three years study in public education at Mercy College in Westchester, New York and New Paltz College in New Paltz, New York. Recently he spent an additional three years studying art at the University of Southern Maine as an art major. Before spending his time in LA, CA where he was until two months ago, he studied for five years acting and movie making privately with Tom Kilroy, Minor Rootes, Valerie Landsburg and Drew Grindstaff in Maine. Richard also made two movies in Maine, one he scripted and one co-scripted with Drew Grindstaff. He produced and starred in these films as well.

The other part of his extensive education and experienced happened concurrently with his formal education. It involved Opera singing as a Heldentenor. He studied the Wagnerian repertory with Edwin McArthur in New York as well as the heavier elements of the Verdi repertory. He worked one year with Richard Woitach at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Broadway studies were done with Roudolph Bennett, Broadway Director. His vocal studies were with Irene Jordan (10 years), Metropolitan Soprano and Arnold Caplan first violinist at the Met.

Richard never cared particularly about the credentials granted by others or their approval for that matter. He cared that he became expert and could do the job in whatever job he chose to do. Regarding those he works with on productions; this is the 'bottom line' as well. His success in the following fields proved this assertion.

Richard worked 20+ years at various jobs in the Auto (managerial and floor representative) and other sales industries, including Cable TV and Advertising to pursue his courses of study as these allowed him the time to do the rest. These came naturally and easily and did not require very much concentration on his part. He was called by his bosses 'a natural' with a closing ratio double his peers.

Among the other jobs Richard had were a public school teacher for four years, a chef for five years, a photographer, sculptor, painter, writer, and actor who performed in New York and California while earning a good living in the "real world."

Movie maker was always his first choice and all his other various occupations and studies enhanced and developed his talents to that end.

He has adapted a script for "Thunder In The Deep - the Movie" from the novel by Joe Buff and co wrote the revisions with Joe as well. He is writing a novel and various other scripts to keep "his hand in."

Richard envisioned and created the business model and success strategy for Thunder in the Deep the Movie, LLC based on his copious business experience. He refined and further crystallized these strategies with the cooperation of two producers, his team. He gathered his two producers in this endeavor in March, 2009. They are Joe Buff of Joe Buff, Inc. and Livingston Webb of Goldenhead, LLC (see Corporate Creed written out by Joe Buff after endless producer meetings with Richard, Joe, and Livingston). Each brings the set of talents and alliances that have allowed the advanced development achieved of this major production in barely one year - and created, under Richard's leadership, the "lean mean fighting machine."

Unfortunately, Livingston Webb passed away 25 October 2011, so that slowed down various productions they hoped to do together.

Richard has concentrated all his universality of experience and studies on this endeavor which has answered the question always presented to him... "What do you want to be when you grow up?" His answer to this question is, "What I am doing now. Making movies that are exciting, entertaining and intelligent, and then of course, acting in them."

In the mid 2010's, Richard has continued working on various productions as Executive Producer, Writer, Producer, and other positions too. Some films are still under development.

In 2015, Richard has been working with various colleges and universities in Maine to see about starting Movie-Theater Departments as each school needs to be modern with the ability to communicate in multi-media platforms.

    • Trivia
Richard is passionate about writing scripts. Whenever writing, he normally includes a role that suits his acting abilities so that if the script sells, he tentatively would be cast for that role too. It is a unique way of creating opportunities to bolster his career.
