He was a member of the National Youth Music Theatre from 1995-1999.

Holds a certificate in stage combat (BASSC) with distinction in rapier and dagger, small-sword and unarmed combat.

Jamie trained at the Royal Academy for the Dramatic Arts, from which he graduated in 2002.

Playing Prince Hal in Shakespeare's Henry IV parts 1 and 2 at the Globe Theatre in London. (July 2010)

Performing in "The History Boys" at the National Theatre in London as Scripps. He spent 3 years in the production before going on a world tour with it, including Broadway. (January 2004)

His parents were in amateur operatics.

At 12 moved with his parents to Edinburgh.
