Fountain of Youth was incredibly hyped when it came out in May 2025. Guy Ritchie made an old-fashioned adventure flick starring John Krasinski as a charming treasure hunter and Natalie Portman as his more cautious sister. The Apple TV+ movie took viewers into sinking ships, grand libraries and underground death traps -- and garnered a lot of comparisons to Indiana Jones.
All the critical reviews pointed towards the film going into the dustbin of cinematic achievement... and then something funny happened. Initially, Fountain of Youth performed well not only in America, but around the world. However, per FlixPatrol, the movie's magical streaming run is coming to an end.
According to FlixPatrol, July 17 is the first time Fountain of Youth has fallen down the charts since its May 23 release. It's still the No. 1 movie on Apple TV+ but on the overall streaming chart from Amazon Channels, it's down to No. 8.

The wait is almost over: James Gunn's Superman is nearing its theatrical release. Ahead of the worldwide premiere on Jul.11, the superhero film's debut score is out.
Superman is the first film in Warner Bros.'s revamped superhero franchise, DC Universe, which is overseen by Gunn and Peter Safran. The first film in the franchise, led by David Corenswet, does not feature yet another origin story and introduces the audience straight into the story, where everyone knows about the Man of Steel and his alter-ego, Clark Kent. After years of anticipation, Superman soared with extremely positive reviews and debuted with a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and it immediately received the Certified Fresh badge.
The initial reaction comes from 86 reviews and is likely to fluctuate as more reviews come in. However, the reaction to Superman is nothing less than stellar, especially since the entire future franchise rests on the film's reception.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has received rave reviews ahead of its release, and it seems like it’s going to be a major success. Early reviews suggest that the film is a major improvement on its previous installment, and given that Mission: Impossible 7 did not perform as well as it was expected to, it seems that The Final Reckoning is going to be able to redeem the franchise in that regard too.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One was a financial disappointment, especially given that the film was one of the most expensive films to come out of Hollywood, with an estimated budget of about $291 million. The film was praised for its production but failed to bring in the kind of money that Paramount expected.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child could trigger a spinoff movie or TV show with a crazy twist, but the twist isn't so crazy that it's never been done, making the Harry Potter spinoff a real possibility. Exclusive: The director of Netflix drama The Crown‘s episodes re-creating Princess Diana’s death in Paris 26 years ago has revealed the extraordinary efforts that went into ensuring it was handled with tact.

The filmmaker directed the second episode from the final season of Peter Morgan’s British royal drama, titled “Two Photographs”; episode 3 (“Dis-Moi-Oui”), which features the crash; and episode 4, titled “Aftermath.”
Schwochow also confirmed reports from last October that the crash involving the Mercedes-Benz, driven by Henri Paul and carrying Diana, Dodi Fayed and security consultant Trevor Rees-Jones,...

Queen Elizabeth I's teenage years will no longer be charted at Starz.
Deadline has revealed the premium cabler has canceled the Alicia von Rittberg series after just one season.
The series launched in the U.S. and Starz territories around the globe in June.
Reviews were decent, but Starz hadn't been forthcoming about viewership statistics, which could signal that the interest was not high enough to sustain the series.
Here's the logline:
Long before she ascended the throne, young Elizabeth Tudor, played by Alicia von Rittberg, was an orphaned teenager who became embroiled in the political and sexual politics of the English court.
The death of King Henry VIII sees his nine-year-old son Edward, played by Oliver Zetterström, take the throne and sets into motion a dangerous scramble for power when Elizabeth, Edward and their sister Mary, played by Romola Garai find themselves pawns in a game between the great...

“Slave Play” made history back in October when it received 12 Tony Awards nominations, the most ever for a play. Five of those citations recognize members of its stellar ensemble, including a bid in Actress, two in Featured Actor, and two in Featured Actress. While “Slave Play” is the frontrunner for Best Play according to our exclusive Tony Awards predictions, none of its cast will take home trophies. But could an upset be looming?
Though it seems counterintuitive that Tony voters would award a play the top honor without recognizing at least one of its performers, it has happened six times in the past 20 years, including the two most recent. In 2019, Jez Butterworth’s “The Ferryman,” an expansive family drama about The Troubles in Ireland, won the top prize and trophies for Director (Sam Mendes), Scenic Design, and Costume Design, but didn’t pick up awards for its three nominated performers: actor Paddy Considine,...

World War I is a period usually given short shrift in social studies classes. Neither of my kids spent time on this vital conflict, since it set the stage for the next 75 years of history. For many, the No Man’s Land scene in Wonder Woman may have been the only time they saw what the battle may have looked like.

Universal Pictures has released the final trailer for 1917/">1917. This is the latest effort from director Sam Mendes, who most recently directed a couple of entries in the James Bond franchise, Skyfall and Spectre. This time around, Mendes is taking on World War I. It seems almost inevitable that every great director will tackle a war movie at some point or another. Though, there seem to be far more World War II movies out there, which is part of what makes this intriguing. And, based on what we're seeing in this final trailer, it's going to be a chaotic and cinematic spectacle made all the more compelling since it's based on real events.
The 1917-trailer/" class="news">1917 trailer kicks off by setting up the tale at hand. A couple of soldiers are given the unenviable task of having to deliver a message to a battalion who are about to walk into a trap.

Good Omens star David Tennant is to play infamous Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen in an ITV drama from the makers of Sky and HBO’s Catherine The Great.
New Pictures’ three-part miniseries, Des, is based on the Brian Masters book Killing For Company, in which the author cooperated with Nilsen to get inside the mind of a man who murdered at least 15 men and boys between 1978 and 1983. Nilsen died in jail last year.
Joining Tennant is The Crown star Jason Watkins, who will play Masters, and Line Of Duty actor Daniel Mays, who features as Detective Chief Inspector Peter Jay. The story charts Nilsen’s arrest and trial, through the prism of the three men.
Des was developed by Luke Neal and Lewis Arnold, with Neal writing the first two episodes and Kelly Jones penning the third. Willow Grylls, Kim Varvell, Charlie Pattinson, Elaine Pyke, Neal, Lewis Arnold and Tennant are the executive producers.

Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for the upcoming World War I epic 1917/">1917. This is the latest from Sam Mendes and the filmmaker has truly outdone himself this time. Not only is he taking on some harrowing subject matter with a stacked cast, but he's decided to make it appear as though all of these events will unfold in a single, continuous shot that lasts for two hours. Safe to say, this could prove to be unlike anything we've ever seen.
The trailer debuted during the movie's panel at New York Comic-Con and was promptly released online after. The footage, though not presented as a single shot, is excruciatingly tense and undeniably grand in scope. We get a strong sense of the story at play, which sees two soldiers being handed a very important mission that could save the lives of hundreds of men. During the panel, Sam Mendes...

Oliver, returning from London after the wrap of the film, will serve as a producer alongside Mendes, who directed a script he wrote with Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful), his Neal Street partner Pippa Harris, Jayne-Ann Tenggren (Spectre) and Callum McDougall (Skyfall). The co-producer is Michael Lerman.

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for 1917/">1917. This is the first directorial effort from Sam Mendes following his stint with the James Bond franchise, which included 2012's Skyfall and 2015's Spectre. This time, he's sticking to action but bringing things into the real world as his latest tackles World War I. If this first footage is any indication, this could serve as a harrowing and brutal look at one of the most horrific wars in human history. And it also could be lining up for its chance at the awards season table later this year.
The trailer itself is incredibly tense and recalls elements of Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk, with a ticking clock setting the tone, time being of the essence. The key difference being that Dunkirk covered World War II, whereas we're going back a bit further for this one. The actual combat footage is truly stunning in...

Sam Mendes is working on his first feature since 2015’s Spectre, and it looks like the acclaimed director has used his industry clout to hire a whole host of some of the biggest British actors around. The film is 1917, which will center on a single day in the First World War.
George MacKay (Captain Fantastic) and Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones) will star as two young British soldiers serving in the conflict, but the supporting cast will feature the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth, Richard Madden and Mark Strong. Sherlock fans will be happy to hear that Andrew Scott is also on board, meaning TV’s Holmes and Moriarty will reunite for the movie. Likewise, Kingsman lovers will be pleased with Galahad (Firth) and Merlin (Strong) teaming up again.
Shooting will start on 1917 in just a few days on April 1st, with filming taking place on location in England and Scotland.
