Yiannis Kalogeropoulos is a Director- Producer- Filmaker and everything in between.
Yiannis Kalogeropoulos journey begun with acting studies at the school of the Athens Conservatory in 1982. Following that, he realized his true calling was in Film studies, which he imediately enrolled, attended and completed by 1987 at the C.R.E.A University School in Amsterdam, Netherlands in the "Mass Communication - Information" faculty.
His achievements are numerous beginning imediately after finishing his studies Yiannis (JKal) went on to direct a number of projects. He begun with Documentaries fulfilling his desire to express himself while receiving the satisfaction of educating his viewers in subjects of interest. He directed, and scripted the movie "Infinite Eyes", a 32 min. documentary about impressionist painters. "The housing problem of Amsterdam"/social documentary, and a documentary about "Henry Plaat" - the life and work of the famous Dutch painter. This period of his work lasted until 1994 with an assortment of projects building up swiftly into a storm of experience.
Yiannis directed television programs, high profile brands commercials (more than 40 !) as also animations for companies in both the Netherlands, Belgium, and also Germany.
In December of 2004 he took on one of the largest TV stations in Greece which he scripted, Mega's "Christmas Show" in cooperation with the company "ACCELERE s.a.", where Muppets, stop frame animation, as well as a multitude of other technologies were used.
Come 1995 (and until 1997) he directed , and took on the post production at the advertising production company STARS s.a. with N. Kavoukidis (Leo Burnett), where he both directed and carried out the post production in over 70 commercials, products. Some mentioned : Fiat, Dimple, Dewars, Delta, Sprite, Suzuki, ote etc.
In 1998 he became Post-production supervisor, directing & editing, in the company "PROFIT" of the very successful "Kostas Koutsomytis", in many well known television & film productions, Greek documentary series (13ep. 26 min) "The Countess of Berenice" by Fotis Lambrinos with George Grammatikakis for ET1. He took on Editing, post-production on the series "Magalos Thymos" 26 ep. by Kostas Koutsomytis for Mega and also editing, post-production in the series "Then came the bees" 18 ep. by Kostas Koutsomytis for Year 1. Editing in the movie "Love took a day" by Kostas Koutsomytis. Direction-Production with Alexandros Arapantonis in the short 3D animation "Anthropos", which was selected at the IMAGINA international festival in Paris, among the 50 best in the world (1998). Direction-television coverage of Marinella's concerts in Herodeion and Olympic stadium (also played as New Year's show /Antena channel). Direction, screenplay in a series of commercials for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. Video-clips: M. Plessas, V. Dimitriou, Kraunakis, D. Papadimitriou, Marinella, Pantazis, Papadopoulou, Tournas and many others. Participation in the organization of the coverage production of the summit of the European Union in Athens in 2003 with the director Tasos Birsim. Hi definition was used for the first time for television in Greece. Co-production in the feature-length documentary "Endochora" by D. Gouziotis (87min Germany). Co-production in the award-winning (Thessaloniki Festival) feature film by S. Tzitzis, "SOSE ME". Production on the documentary on "women's entrepreneurship", for the Ministry of the Interior.
General Manager at "MANGOS STUDIOS" company, he enjoyed tinkering the technology achieving high level of expertise in the installation and operation of the systems such as 3D animation, Virtual Studio, virtual Character, motion capture, 3d tacking, blue and green screening, composition, robotic cameras, etc. This technology was used in a multitude of broadcasts of advertising and internet applications, but also in the broadcast of yr1 for the parliamentary elections of 2000.
He then moved on the position of Creative producer, at ARTOON sa. with N. Vergitsis. Expertise in traditional animation production methods. Responsible for the company's participation in European programs, for the production of animations with new technologies. Expertise in modern animation production methods. Following that the direction, art-direction, of concerts and events by the composer Mimi Plessas (Megaro Musikis, Irodio). As Production manager of the company Graal SA, and then as a Creative producer - Post production supervisor in commercials of the Department of Sports for the Athens 2004 Olympics with directors Tasos Mpirsim and Costas Koutsomytis. He also carried out projects such as Post production supervisor - editor, in the serials of K.Koutsomitis: "The Children of Niobe", "The Children of Niobe 2", "The witches of Smyrna", "fly"
Directing a series of TV spots for the Ministry of the Interior on the subject of Civil Protection. Editing - post production supervisor in the feature film by K.Koutsomitis "The Children of Niobe". Directing - adaptation of the foreign series "Broadway classics" for the company MAX productions. The series was played on the "Parliament channel" and on Et1. Post production supervisor - editing on the feature film "Emma Blue" by Bob MacLean (American production).
Screenplay - Direction on the documentary "IN GODS WE TRUST" - SR-HD for "IMAGINA.SA" for the international market.

A co-owner with G.Koutsomytis of the production company "POST OFFICE" since 2003, which participated in the production of commercials, corporate videos, documentaries, films and also series such as "The Witches of Smyrna" for Mega, "the children". Niobe 2" for NET, "Bloodfly" and "Bloody Soils" for Alpha.
Since 2017 I have been producing an Animation feature film, and in 2018 Script and Screenplay for two feature films to be released in future seasons. Finally in 2020 in cooperation with Amy s.a. he begun researching the Virtual Production area with combinations of Virtual Reality, and unreal engine as a hybrid system with Green Screens.
