Kean Reeves portrays the titular hitman, who goes through some crazy and traumatic events across the four films.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is famous for its brutal cold opening where Keanu Reeve's titular assassin makes another trip into the desert. This time, he doesn't pass out mid-way. He rides a horse and hunts down the Elder's men right into the heart of Morocco where the Elder resides, and requests to have his ring returned to him. However, instead of being greeted in a real tent by a familiar face (Said Taghmaoui), John Wick is greeted by a new Elder (George Georgiou), who's exposed in the desert. The new Elder tells Wick that he doesn't have the ring and reminds him of his inevitable fate as an assassin in the world run by the High Table.
There's very little Wick can do about this situation, but he can very well kill the Elder with a headshot. The Elder's death kicks off John Wick's bloody trail toward freedom in the fourth installment.

Celebrated action director Chad Stahelski has thrown doubt on the prospect of a fifth chapter in the John Wick saga. Discussing the possibility of a further sequel with Empire, Stahelski declares that John Wick: Chapter 4 works so well as the “closure” of the series that he’s struggling to find the “why” when it comes to making John Wick: Chapter 5.
“Now we’ve done the four, and completed the circle, so to speak, I think it’s pretty good closure for the series. And then there’s the competitor, or the real director in me who goes, ‘F--k it, let’s just see if we can do it.’ It’s very appealing. I just don’t have the ‘why’ yet. But that doesn’t mean we should stop looking.”

Several movie sequels have had to recast major characters for one reason or another. Sometimes it's because the original actor is busy with another project, doesn't want to do the sequel, or has passed away. Sometimes it's because the filmmakers want to take the character in a different direction. Sometimes a character's age prevents the original actor from reprising their role.
Famous examples of a character being recast include James Bond and Jack Ryan, who have both now gone through several different actors in various sequels and reboots. Marvel has recast several characters, including replacing Edward Norton with Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / The Hulk between The Incredible Hulk and The Avengers. Several more recent films have also recast major characters.

Warning: This article contains Spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 4
John Wick: Chapter 4’s Elder twist means that John Wick 5 can finally deliver on the franchise’s failed villain promise. John Wick 4 recast the Elder after the head of the High Table made his debut in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, except that it was not a simple recast but rather a change that was incorporated into the story. George Georgiou played a different version of the Elder in John Wick 4 from the one Saïd Taghmaoui played in John Wick 3, establishing that the Elder was never a name but instead a title.
Whether John Wick 5 will happen is difficult to say, but there are more than enough storylines for a possible fifth entry to dive into. Even though John Wick dies in Chapter 4, the John Wick universe’s hyperrealism could make a surprising Keanu Reeves’ John...

Warning: Contains Spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 4John Wick: Chapter 4 features a new Elder following the death of the previous Elder, and it perfectly sets up a new villain in the franchise. The John Wick series has become a huge success, and it has gotten increasingly better reviews with each consecutive release. That has continued with the fourth movie, which has an incredible 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. It reached that rare score despite several setbacks, including having to recast the Elder. John Wick: Chapter 4's elder is played by George Georgiou, but he was originally played by Saïd Taghmaoui in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.
Taghmaoui didn't return as the Elder simply because of scheduling conflicts, as he was working on three different projects during the time John Wick: Chapter 4 was in production. However, director Chad Stahelski didn't just recast the same character with a different actor. Instead,...

Warning: Contains Spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 4!
Among all the deaths and action in the John Wick movies, John Wick: Chapter 4 includes various Easter eggs and hidden details that are easy to miss. The Keanu Reeves franchise is not based on an existing IP of any kind, as it instead takes its influence from a variety of genres to craft a wholly original mythology. The films have continued to expand the established world, bring back key characters in John's life, and introduce more layers of the assassin universe. Since the overall story of the John Wick movies is so tightly tied together, that gives each new installment plenty of opportunities to reference what came before.
There are a variety of opportunities for John Wick 4's Easter eggs and important references to occur. The story takes place across multiple continents, countries, and cities as John Wick goes to war with the High Table.

On March 24, Lionsgate released “John Wick: Chapter 4,” the fourth installment of the Keanu Reeves-led franchise. John Wick uncovers a path to defeating The High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.
With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 93%, critics are raving, “‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ piles on more of everything — and suggests that when it comes to a well-dressed Keanu Reeves dispatching his enemies in lethally balletic style, there can never be too much.”
In addition to Reeves, the returning cast includes Laurence Fishburne as underworld boss the Bowery King, Lance Reddick as Continental Hotel concierge Charon, and Ian McShane as Winston Scott, the manager of the Continental Hotel who betrayed John at the end of “Chapter 3.” New cast members include Bill Skarsgård as the Marquis de Gramont,...

Warning: This article contains spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 4. Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, and many of the original cast members are up to their old tricks in John Wick: Chapter 4, but The Elder, the most prominent member of the High Table, has been recast. John Wick first met The Elder in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum after a long and painful journey to clear his name, but their meeting did not go the way the fabled assassin hoped. Wick's desire to rid himself of the High Table ended with him becoming further bound to it when The Elder gave him one option - be of service and kill The Continental's manager, Winston.

This article contains massive spoilers for "John Wick: Chapter 4."
There's an ancient saying: "Before you set out on revenge, first dig two graves." The axiom has been attributed to everyone from Confucius to James Bond, but while its origins are indeterminate, its sentiment is evergreen. Revenge is a deadly business that will likely consume the soul — if not the life — of anyone who seeks it.
John Wick (played with brooding soulfulness by Keanu Reeves) can attest to the truth of that saying, as can many of his friends and enemies. In the latest installment of his saga, "John Wick: Chapter 4," the daughter of Wick's friend Shimazu (Hiroyuki Sanada), Akira (Rina Sawayama), observes that "everything he touches, dies." Another of Wick's on-again, off-again allies, Winston (Ian McShane) pleads with John to know where his roaring rampage of revenge will end. John himself, as ever, isn't sure of the particulars.

The delight of the John Wick franchise lies squarely in its weirdness. The film series famously kicked off with mercenary protagonist and certified wife guy John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, avenging his dog. But as John’s thirst for vengeance dwindled, the screenwriters decided to surround him with bloodthirsty weirdos rather than kill more of his loved ones. Even better, the films are aware of their own strangeness, lending a campy joy to even the dourest deeds.
The franchise is at its bizarre best in “John Wick 4,” written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch and directed, as always, by former stuntman Chad Stahelski. The wild world of assassins is more esoteric, the cinematography and choreography more stunning. Though the film stretches to an audacious 169 minutes — just under three hours — if you surrender yourself to the gorgeous silliness of the Wickiverse, it goes by in a fist-flying flash.

A new John Wick: Chapter 4 image shows Keanu Reeves walking through a wintry New York City setting. After the success of the first film in 2014, director Chad Stahelski brought Reeves' titular assassin back for two subsequent sequels, both of which were strong performers at the box office and popular with critics. Reeves is next set to return in John Wick: Chapter 4, which sees his character uncovering a path to finally defeating the High Table while facing off against some old friends. In addition to Reeves, the upcoming film also features the return of Ian McShane's Winston, Laurence Fishburne's Bowery King, and Lance Reddick's Charon, while also introducing a host of new characters.

Don't stop running! This film is one of these super tense thrillers where you hold your breath the entire time until it's over. The Tunnel is a remarkable short made by an Iranian filmmaker named Arash Ashtiani based in the UK. Presented by BFI Network and Lush. This is based on true stories. Three refugees run the race of their lives through the Euro Tunnel, trying to beat the trains and overcome their terror in a bid to reach freedom and start new lives in the UK. An interview explains that the The Tunnel "drops us into the tense third act of a larger story Ashtiani is developing with co-writer Daniel Metz." Starring Mohammad Amiri, Ramin Farahani, and George Georgiou. This was not shot on location - it is a set built inside of a studio, and many of the trains are miniatures. Which is even more incredible because it's all so believable.

"Let's get one thing straight - I no longer work for you. From now on, you do as I say." Netflix has debuted the first official trailer for a gritty action film titled Close, which will be premiering on Netflix in just a few weeks. Described as an "adrenaline-pumping action thriller", written and directed by Vicky Jewson, the film is about a bodyguard assigned to protect a young woman who is handed the keys to her father's business. When things go wrong and they end up kidnapped, they both must learn to fight back and escape in order to make it home alive. Noomi Rapace stars as Sam, with a cast including Sophie Nélisse, Indira Varma, Eoin Macken, Charley Palmer Rothwell, Akin Gazi, Huw Parmenter, and George Georgiou. This looks like an intense action flick, but also looks cliche with all the usual tropes. Still might be worth a watch.

First up it seems Yunkai slaver Razdal (George Georgio), who was seemingly burned to death by Khaleesi's dragon Drogon in the third season, may be back in some way in the new season as the slavers of Yunkai and Meereen will be joining forces.
Also coming back from the third season is Edmure Tully (Tobias Menzies) who will return for scenes set in the Riverlands alongside Brynden the Blackfish (Clive Russell). With Menzies' "Outlander" commitments though, don't expect him to play a huge part this time around.

Writer: Fatih Akin
Producers: Fatih Akin, Karl Baumgartner, Reinhard Brundig, Fabienne Vonier
U.S. Distributor: Rights Available
Cast: Tahar Rahim, George Georgiou, Akin Gazi
It’s when he worked within his working trilogy that Fatih Akin has provided us with his deepest, thematically most daring material to date. Gist: Final installment in his Love, Death and the Devil trilogy, will focus on the devil — that is, the evil inherent in mankind.
Release Date: Following in the shoes of The Edge of Heaven, this could find itself in the Main Comp at the Cannes Film Festival.
