He was best known for Masterminding the biggest heist in UK History; The Great Train Robbery of 1963. Which became the subject of numerous books, films and documentaries, including; Buster (1988), Trois milliards d'un coup (1967), The Great Train Robbery (2013), Mrs Biggs (2012) to name a few, and also his own personal memoirs published in his book; 'The Autobiography Of A Thief'. Reynolds was considered the inspiration for 'Michael Caine''s 1965 depiction of fictional spy Harry Palmer in film Ipcress - Danger immédiat (1965).
He was married to Frances (who later changed her name to Angela), together they had one son; Nick Reynolds.
Bruce Reynolds died on February 28, 2013 in Croydon, Surrey, England. Bruce's memorial stone and death mask created by his son; Nick Reynolds, resides in Highgate Cemetery, North London, England.
