While Friday’s episode was a total sobfest (at least for us), we were able to keep it together a little bit more today. However, the sweet memories, exciting returns, and incredible flashbacks made us wish this episode was two hours long.

Bill Hayes had a lengthy and memorable career, but his most known role is as Doug Williams on the daytime drama Days Of Our Lives. He first joined the sudser in 1970. He played the role off-and-on for over 50 years. He met his future wife, Susan Seaforth Hayes, during his first year on Dool. The couple married in 1974 and effortlessly played married couple Doug and Julie Williams on the soap for decades.

Days of Our Lives (Dool) spoilers indicate a familiar face is about to hit the land of Salem. According to Soap Opera Digest (Sod), actor Stephen Schentzer is joining the cast, set to reprise the role of Steve Olson, Julie Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) brother. More on this story, below.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Stephen Schnetzer Is Going Back Home

Schnetzer is best known for his soap role as Cass Winthrop on Another World (Aw), a part he also played on As The World Turns (Atwt). Still, Stephen first made his daytime drama debut on Dool, playing Steve Olson, a character he originated from 1978 to 1980.

Schnetzer notes to Sod that he’s flying out to Los Angeles next week to play Olson for a couple of episodes. He goes on to say that he hopes he’s “not giving anything up” and didn’t say any more about his Days run.

Look who’s coming back to Salem: Stephen Schnetzer, who starred as Steve Olson on Days of Our Lives more than four decades ago, says he’s been invited back to the NBC-turned-Peacock soap. “I have an announcement to make — breaking news,” Schnetzer said in a live episode of the YouTube show The Locher Room on Friday. “As far as I know, next week I’m flying out to L.A. I hope I’m not giving anything up, but they’ve asked Steve Olson to come back for a couple of episodes. I’ll say no more than that.” Schnetzer may have said too much, however. “Are we streaming? We’re live, aren’t we?” he said. “Yeah. I lie all the time. Always lying.” In any case, the announcement thrilled fans. “Get out! That is great news!” one person wrote in the chat of that YouTube livestream.
