Mezcal is the little spirit that could. Once (erroneously) seen as a lesser sibling to tequila, drinkers are increasingly coming to appreciate mezcal as something that can be smoky and sophisticated. And they’re buying the stuff by the cask. The boom had to start somewhere, and the brand that helped establish it is undoubtedly Del Maguey, which cracked open the artisanal mezcal category in 1995.

Before Hope returned to Bo’s side in the Tuesday, December 10 episode of Days of Our Lives, she needed to do a couple of things. First, she had to verify Doug’s grandson’s story. Second, she needed to dole out a warning and make sure Doug III understood her loud and clear. Will he heed Hope’s warning? Or will he continue to double down on the diamond necklace stealing?
Shady Doug
Doug Williams III (Peyton Meyer) is turning out to be a very frustrating individual, not to mention he is super shady. He had no problem throwing Julie’s brother, Steve Olson (Stephen Schnetzer), under the bus. All so he could throw suspicion off of him.
And if that wasn’t enough, he actually took the opportunity to get Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) to trust him even more. He actually told her she could count on him and...

Hope was a busy woman as she returned to Salem to say goodbye to her dad. There’s another Steve on Days of Our Lives. No, it’s not a clone of Steve Johnson or someone wearing a Steve mask. It’s Steve Olson, who was played by Stephen Schnetzer from 1978 to 1979. His short run was memorable as Julie’s younger brother who always caused some kind of trouble, and he left Salem when his crimes started catching up to him. Schnetzer recently reprised his role so Steve could attend Doug’s funeral, and the actor explained what it was like to get back into the part.
He’s a Charming Rogue
Schnetzer told TV Insider that returning to play Steve after 46 years had passed was like riding a bicycle, and it all came back to him. He explained his character as “A charming rogue, a schmoozer, a charmer, a manipulator,” and added, “but there was a heart there, and the heart showed up in the relationship with Susan’s character,...

Salem bid goodbye to one of the good ones on the December 3 Days of Our Lives. It was a beautiful memorial service, as Julie gave a heartbreaking and heart-lifting eulogy for the love of her life.
What a Man, What a Life, What a Legend.
This was another episode that required a box of tissues. It showed everybody’s love for Doug (the late Bill Hayes) and Julie’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) strength and kicked off a couple of mysteries.
The Memorial Service
Eli and Shawn stepped up for Julie. When it came time for Julie to give her eulogy, Eli (Lamon Archey) and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) got up and led her to the podium. They lent her their strength. Even though Julie had plenty of it, her grandsons ensured she knew they were there for her.

Look who’s coming back to Salem: Stephen Schnetzer, who starred as Steve Olson on Days of Our Lives more than four decades ago, says he’s been invited back to the NBC-turned-Peacock soap. “I have an announcement to make — breaking news,” Schnetzer said in a live episode of the YouTube show The Locher Room on Friday. “As far as I know, next week I’m flying out to L.A. I hope I’m not giving anything up, but they’ve asked Steve Olson to come back for a couple of episodes. I’ll say no more than that.” Schnetzer may have said too much, however. “Are we streaming? We’re live, aren’t we?” he said. “Yeah. I lie all the time. Always lying.” In any case, the announcement thrilled fans. “Get out! That is great news!” one person wrote in the chat of that YouTube livestream.
