Biography

Brendan Foley is a Northern Irish writer / EP with international experience across TV drama, feature films and books.

His most recent work is series The Man Who Died for streamer Elisa-Viaplay, their most successful 2022 series since its launch, and recipient of three nominations for the national TV Awards in its native Finland. Previously Foley was series writer on 2021 Nordic Noir, Cold Courage, for Lionsgate and Viaplay, Britbox and AMC+ . He also has international drama series in development with ZDFE in Germany, Blue Ant in Canada, and Croton-Huace in China.

His past indie feature films, for Sony, Lionsgate and others, include action drama Johnny Was with Vinnie Jones, and supernatural thriller The Riddle, starring Derek Jacobi and Vanessa Redgrave. Foley's books include Random House Top ten Amazon UK bestseller Under the Wire, about WWII's Great Escape. He was previously an award-winning features journalist who covered business, the environment and conflict in 77 countries.
